I live in the US of A! And there are so many weird legal and illegal ways in this country. It's a major grey area.
Obviously as for live poker:
YES live poker is legal in Nevada along with any other states of America that has
casinos who have poker rooms. Such as Louisiana, Florida,
New Jersey, Mississippi, etc along with any casino that has poker rooms the list goes on.
Is
online poker legal in America?
YES and NO: online poker in America is where things get very very tricky at. Certain states of America you can only play certain websites.
The state I live in is Louisiana. As for online poker in the state of Louisiana you are limited with a few websites. You can play on sites such as Bovada, ACR, Bet online,
ignition, that's all I can think of. But Louisiana players cannot play on
888 poker,
party poker,
pokerstars,
unibet, or GGpoker.
If I'm correct in order to play on pokerstars you have to be in the New Jersey state of geological location like you have to do with sports betting.
So in conclusion my answer to this question is that poker in general is legal and illegal here.
