Harrington books are still best for me.

Books would suit you depending on your personality though.

It depends were are you want to play. If online than technical and more mathematical books about poker, if live games than a little mathematical and a lot of psychology pokers book! But anyway try to read 'the mental game of poker' I don't remember who write it, but u can find it in google! GL!

I mostly play 2/5 live or 1/2 if its the weekends for the tourists or business men.

Harrington Books were my base when I started playing a decade ago.

If online I just play MTTs or stud variations

My favorite books for that are Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand at a time and Kill Everyone. For stud Seven-Card Stud for Advanced players by Sklansky.

Honestly now you can just look at tons of video content online, a lot of pros either have some free youtube videos of them multi tabling with their huds and going through their thought process during each session. Or replaying a tourny hand by hand. If you want to make an investment there are also sites with paid content where they update with 3-4 vids a week. I like videos more maybe because it adds the visual element to studying.

Hope they help, cheers

Yes I google the Harrington books, they first is from 1999, before the "moneymaker effect" do you belive that book still contains actual content ? I mean after 15 years still worth the read. Or the videos are the best way ?
Thanks

For creating a foundation Harrington and Sklansky books will always apply to the game. If you need something specific like multi tabling 25nl online or playing sngs or playing online mtts then videos are good because you can look up exactly the information that you want for your game.

after reading some books, it seems to take the edge off my play till I I get comfortable with what I've read. One book I would like to try is "Kill Phil" to help with aggressiveness. If anyone has read this please reply if it was a good read or not.--r

I have recently ordered 'Winning Low-Limit Holdem by Lee Jones' I have been recommended this book by a few different poker players. Apparently this book is ideal for beginners at low limit holdem! Will give a review once I've finished it!
