It is difficult to answer, one thing that is very bad about poker is that it takes a lot of time, especially if you have a family, well, here everyone chooses his own path, no one forces you to play poker.
I like it, but due to various circumstances I don't have enough time to sit down at the poker table online, maybe this weekend I will find time.

Hello
there will always be people who can't control themselves and are addicted to something, that's normal! i love poker and card games in general but i can also do without it which is unfortunately not the case with other things :) everyone should decide for themselves what is good for them or not and if they need help and ask for it, then they should we do that because nobody is perfect :)

It can be addictive bit you've just got to take breaks and dont make it the centre of your life, make it part of your balanced life, almost like a treat to play in a big game - that's what I try to do!

Smoking and drugs are a bad habit, and poker is a favorite game, you just need to treat it right.

Poker is a bad habit if it causes you problems. If it hurts your finances, health, or relationships then it is a problem.

It is natural that many of us go through this, poker is a game that requires a lot of strategy and it consumes a lot of time, but if we pretend to be very good at it, it implies studying a lot and spending several hours a day, however, I think that sometimes we also have to find that moment for ourselves and our normal daily life.

Poker is like a lot of other things in life, it doesn't require too much effort (easy to play online) and it can reward you with easy dopamine and serotonine

Because of these characteristics, it has a big capacity of being addictive

However, if well played it can reward you with money, so it becomes a complement or even a main job

In conclusion, i think that you can't simply consider it a good or bad habit, it will always depend on the person mental conditions
I agree with you, it all depends on each person.

Not for a healthy person. By a healthy person, I mean a person without gambling addiction.

Poker, like any other form of gambling, can become a bad habit if not approached with caution. The thrill of winning can be addictive, and players may find themselves unable to resist the urge to keep playing, even when they should stop. This can lead to financial problems, as well as a neglect of other important areas of life, such as work, relationships, and health.

Additionally, poker can also be a gateway to other forms of gambling, such as online casinos or sports betting, which can further exacerbate the problem. It's important to approach poker with a responsible attitude, setting limits on time and money spent playing, and always keeping in mind the potential risks and consequences.

In short, while poker can be a fun and exciting game, it can quickly become a bad habit if not approached with care and caution. It's important to enjoy the game responsibly and in moderation to avoid any negative impacts on one's life.

If you don't know how to control it, obviously it can become a bad habit.

Everything in moderation but most of the time we get addicted with poker spending hours upon hours daily infront of a poker table obviously missing out on other aspects IRL. So is poker a bad habit like gambling?
Hi:)
We can be addicted to all things whether good or bad, and we can gamble with any game. The decision is up to us, as we can get addicted to watching TV for many hours, surfing the Internet, playing billiards, video games, etc. The problem is not in poker, but in us.

El póquer no es un mal hábito, pero las personas son las que se vuelven adictas a él.

Anything you can't control is a bad habit, I usually play poker when I can and I don't think of it that way

I 100% agree. Also it is important to understand responsible gaming. For examle:
One of the things which can help (it helps me few months ago) - it was to limit daily, weekly and monthy deposits amount.
I Calculate the amount that I can accept to loose in case of failure. Is it 10$ or 100$ or 1000$ - it is always depend on each of our material status and financial condition.

It all depends on everyone's attitude to the game. For some, poker is a hobby and a way of entertainment, for others, hard work and earnings. The main thing is to have self-control and discipline.

If poker is a bad habit, addiction, it's easy to answer, yes, it's like alcohol, sex, tobacco and other things.
That's why poker, as far as I know, is prohibited for minors under 18 years of age.
Adult life things cannot be done by teenagers and children, it is a fact that many children and teenagers play recreationally with their own country, but they cannot register in paid game sites, casino. On gaming sites, only fictional games can be played.

Poker is like a personal psychologist for me. I see my strengths and weaknesses in life. It seems funny. But poker has changed me. I recently started playing. Only about a year.

I think a habit is only "bad" if it's detrimental to your success as a person. If you're a losing poker player don't feel bad. I mean the industry thrives on this demographic but there's good news, it's only temporary, or has the potential to be.
Not that I'm saying all bad habits can become complacent or tolerable like a "functioning alcoholic or junkie", but this is actually a habit that can become a positive source of income and/or hobby, if you will.
It's the old making lemonade scenario. 🍋🥤;)(y)

I think that if you play in moderation it's fine... but if you stop doing your important things to play poker or even worse if you lose what you shouldn't lose... of course it's a bad habit...!

I think it also has to do with your own personality. Poker players need emotional ups and downs to feel alive. Consequently, it may not be the most popular character trait, but it's still a reflection of oneself. Therefore, you should never worry about it being a bad habit, because there is a reason why you ended up playing poker. And as long as it doesn't ruin you or make you feel like you're losing control, it's a perfectly acceptable occupation.
