Poker omaha is one of my favorite games, it gives me a big pleasure, because there is always too much action and too much surprises.
In omaha we try always to make the best hand possible. One pair is not enough to win in omaha, we are always searching for a set or a full house. Even two pairs are often not enough to win!
Omaha teach you to calculate the different probabilities in a poker game, you have always to calculate the probabilities that the flop gives, and to calculate the probabilities of your win. You have also to estimate the potential of your starting hand, witch’s harder than to make it in a holdem poker game.

Hi.
Of course I like the Texas Hold'em most of all, but sometimes I also play Omaha or Horse.
Good luck.

So if I bet every time you check, would you only call me with a very good hand?

One of my favorite poker variants. I like Omaha because there is a lot more action, I play more hands preflop and play more aggressive than playing Holdem. I am competitive playing Omaha at micro stakes, I have a good amount of ITM finishes. My best result was the first place in a 3.3 dollars buy-in tournament with a prize of 278.80 dollars in a field of 484 players.

Will often be found that your set is beaten, your flash will be weak, your full-house will be a bit senior full-house, Omaha she is)). Sometimes you will win strange hands, for example a few days ago in Omaha I won all-in by K-high, and yesterday I saw a hand where the player lost with a square, the opponent was given a Royal flush. This is Omaha, a very interesting game full of surprises, so I play it.

Just won a big (cash) hand in OMHL against two players who refused to fold - A2345 for low and straight flush (A2345) for high. Doesn't get any more exciting.

Omaha is one of my favorite games for sure, it is so fun, always have to be on top of your game to play. No point in playing tired or anything like that because with the amount of thinking being done each hand you will most definitely make mistakes and get rocked for big pots. I play cash and a little bit of tourneys i like both pretty much the same, its just the tourneys don't run as often as i would like them to. The game is becoming like what holdem was in 2010, always fresh new inexperienced players wanting to play for big money, and always a game somewhere. You should try out the high-low version of the game, it is very similar, yet so different as well, it has a lot more action because people are trying to make low hands as well. Overall Omaha is a great game and i think it will be around for a long time just like hold em.:):D:cool:

Some poker rooms promote Omaha and one can find better prizes that with similar Holdem games, also the competition is usually less advanced.

I love OMAHA! It's strategic, and any hand looks good. Hard game to master though.

Omaha is great, it's tougher for most players to calculate odds.

I used to love Omaha (well I still do) but feel the game has changed immensely in recent years.

Its popularity has risen fast but the style of play has oriented predominantly to gambler-style. Naturally, its everyone's own prerogative to play in the style they like. But...

...just a short a few years ago, play was more studied and deliberate. I have a few 8 hour streams of European Omaha Championships (essentially world championships) and the game is unrecognizable compared to today. No pre flop all ins or even large raises until final table territory. Everyone understood its a post flop game at it's core and play/strategize accordingly.

Now, with more and more Omaha being televised, the thrust has been to make it appear exciting and crazy. You have King's Casino streaming Leon and pals going all in pre-flop for tens of thousands (or more) every hand. In the States, ditto, streams featuring the likes of Rob Yong, Trickett and Matt Kirk spunking tens of thousands (or more) every hand.

It's makes for great entertainment yes. However, from my viewpoint many newcomers are simply attracted to play a wild game (posters admit above they like the action). Fine, but there are many who seem to have little idea that Omaha can and has been played in a very different manner.

The change has been so profound, I now play much less than before. I fine with that as I am now out of step with the present game, however, I hope in the longer term, the style of play will level out again.
