I say NH to the player who bests the aggressive player who always raises preflop and finally gets knocked out. It makes me feel good. And I'm usually not the only one who likes it, practicaaly the whole table says NH :D (sometimes I'm the one getting knocked out altho I don't raise preflop every hand)

i'm always under the impression that "nice hand" is the equiv. to "FU" much like when casino employees say good luck. i never say nice hand unless i'm not in the hand and it actually was a good hand. i certainly never say thanks which tends to irk them more and go on donkey tilt

So many anonymous ******** online that some folks think even minor efforts at civility can't hurt. Other folks adhere to the "don't tap on the fish tank" philosophy.

I don't mind "nice hand" personally, but only when it is genuine, when someone says it after you get a 2 outer on the river, it is full of sarcasm!
Now onto "thanks"... a personal pet hate of mine. This is because it is said when a player attempts to actually play the game, but gets caught out by someone who hits a hand. A player who tried and fails doesn't deserve a thanks, just take their chips and say nothing, and either let that player learn, or keep giving you chips

Don't mind saying it or hearing it. Nice gesture and is said in about any poker venue.

I'm just trying to be polite. I was raised that way in the 1950's. I say mister and ma'am to people that 50 years younger than me. In today's world we probably could use more manners. Just my thoughts.
