Good people, not long ago I started playing poker again, about 5 months ago and since I started I had losses and gains practically the same, lately I have been winning more since I improved my strategy but this week I come from a very bad streak and no so much for bad decisions but for bad luck and I was left with a very low stack about 20usd to what I was thinking. is it better to play MTTs with a low stack or to continue at cash tables? How can I better control my bankroll, could you give me some advice please

MTTs & cash are played differently. Each person is different so the answer would be different for each person. I win a lot at MTT's and not so much at cash, so for me it would be MTT's. But you may be the opposite. I would suggest you play what you play best.

If you are really good on MTT's maybe you should give it a shot. Cash games is also good but it's slow in building your bankroll when you are playing micro stakes.

MTTs take large amounts of time if you go deep, so you must consider that.
Cash games can be played for a few minutes or a few hours.

Tournaments you'll never lose more than the buy-in, but cash games, the losses have no limit -- unless you set one

It all depends on what you played before, which discipline you like best and in which you are more comfortable. If you like MTT, then with your bankroll, I would advise you to start with one-, two-table SNG.
Good luck for you!!!

To make money fast I think cash games are made for something like that but you have to be good at them so you lose all your money. In MTT you have to be patient and you have to fight with a lot of opponents. You have to play where you had the best results and where you feel best.

If you really want to earn money in cash games, you HAVE to play above micro stakes. If you cannot afford those, play MTTs!

The best advice I can give you is that you play what you are good at and what you have profits at. If you have winnings in tournaments and you lose it in cash, it would be best to keep the tournaments. Luck

Chose the game u like the most, I recommend SNG because it doesn’t take too much energy and u can control what u might lose.

Also remember that certain websites have a strong field of cash players and some have a strong field of MTT players. That should be an important consideration as you profit from your opponent's mistakes.

I think in which of these disciplines you are most successful both in terms of the game and in terms of profit in that and play...

There are general rules for proper bankroll management. If you haven't read them then read them. It's up to you to decide which tables to play on. Each player has his own style of play.

If you want to build a bankroll, I recommend MTT or SNG, but definitely not a cash game. Cash gambe you can lose a lot if you're unlucky and if you're tilt.

you have to play on the format in which you excel the most. for my part I prefer to play on mtt even if it takes more time to mount its banckroll.

Hello.
Without a doubt, I recommend you play those games that statistically bring you money. I believe that with a bankroll of $ 20, you can spend no more than 5% (no more than one dollar) per day. I think, for example, SnG tournaments with a buy-in of 25 or 50 cents will suit you well.

Like I've already wrote at another post, the both have their own features. There's no better, it's up to the player taste or style. Some like cash, some, tourney. I believe ring games demand more ability to play. I like cash games more than tourneys but it does not mean that I play one or another very well.

I think it’s worth taking the time to look at the pros/cons of cash versus tournaments as they pertain to you, especially since you’re just getting in to playing. It’s possible that one of these will trump the others and become the primary factor in which you decide on—which was the case for me.

I’m very competitive haha, so for me that was the main deciding factor. The biggest negative of picking tournaments for me is at this point in my life, where I have two young kids—there are more points where I could squeeze in a cash session but don’t have time to load a full schedule of tourneys. Still, I’m very happy with my decision to focus on tourneys over cash games :)

That is, it is better to go to a certain goal, to the first place, than to play until a certain moment, when you yourself understand that you need to stop.

Cash Games: I prefer because the stakes are never raised, and your ability to keep playing is entirely within your control (i.e. I don't have to shove with an arguably shit hand in order to stay in the game). I can relax, play longer, win a bit of money over time, and occasionally stack (or be stacked lol) in an exciting hand full of action. But there's no sense of urgency. So unless you're playing above your bankroll (guilty, I'll admit) there isn't that much pressure so you can focus on actually playing the game than worrying about going broke in a few hands if you aren't dealt anything worthwhile.

MTTs: I like to play those as well, for the opposite reasons stated above. I like the dynamics of the stakes being constantly raised and the thrill of catching good hands early on to set myself up to run deep with (I'm looking at you PLO8) and being able to bully shortstacks on the bubble. There's is definitely a lot of strategy involved, but I feel like you get the thrill of degenerate gambling without actually risking all that much. Just my $0.02 anyway.

Your example describes exactly what’s wrong with the cash game. A bad day and the hard-earned profit disappears. My advice is to switch to MTT and then find out which one is best for you!

Hi.
If you are unlucky, just take a break for a few days. But in general, I recommend that you focus your attention on tournaments. For me personally, cash games are unprofitable, so I just stopped playing them.
Good luck.
