No ones said ‘ the best software ‘ i say ban all 3rd party software! Its not skill when charts/graphs are tracking my every move instead of the player.

BRM is pretty darn important, patience and luck. I dont consider myself to be very good but my % increase from original deposits pretty great especially when my very losing % sports bets are factored in.

There is an element of luck, but the key is getting the odds in your favor. Luck is not a constant. However, if you keep getting your money in as the favorite, you will be a winner in the long run.

Hi everyone.

I think that in the short term luck influences a lot (I don't know the percentage), but it is assumed, according to those who know, that in the long term the skill is imposed and, beyond the bad times, good players win over bad players.
Greetings.

You can be the best player in the world, but you won't win anything if you are unlucky enough to lose 80/20 or 70/30 spots

Of course, luck is an integral part of poker. But when you play at a long distance, you can immediately notice that luck has nothing to do with it)

Of course it is important is 40% of the game you can have many skills to play but if there is no luck you will have little chance of winning

I think that luck in poker is something mental, if you play and you know how to play well, luck will come alone.

I think luck is not the most important thing in poker. Luck comes to those poker players, who are constantly improving their skills. But anyway, I'm glad that luck matters.

The way I view poker is,
"The person who makes the least amount of mistakes put themselves in the best position to cash however even the best player can only do so much with no cards".

So yes luck or variance will play a major part in it.

Actually luck always helps in short term but on a long distance there's no way :)

LUCKY LUCKY

That reminds me of when i got a hole in one, and when i told the gang at work some said oh that was just blind luck.
Well that luck was brought about by many rounds of practice and grinding.
So no doubt ,what they call luck took a lot of work to get to that place to make it possible .
Poker is the same, use your skill learn, practice, grind, etc and they will see that you seem to be luckier than most.

One great leveler in poker is the last turn of the cards and lady luck plays her hand.

We can, one and all, big ourselves up endlessly about luck and how we circumvent the bad side of luck by playing skillfully, but really that's a lot of nonsense.

People do not play hand after hand with 'any two hands' and contrary to the impression many give, the vast majority of players do not bluff regularly either. More often they semi-bluff when pushing an edge - they have equity to one degree or another. However, most hands which reach showdown depend on hand strength, and to be holding a strong hand you need the luck of having been dealt one in the first place.

We all have fundamental skill sets, and most here study the game and are ambitious to improve. But I know when I am 'running bad' (my game alters little and if anything should incrementally improve with time and study) so when I do 'run good' I don't sit around and pat myself on the back. Yes, I can have had a great session and make some great calls- I can say I played well. But the proviso is (generally), I got the cards to do so....and that is luck dependent more than most like to admit.

Lucky factor

Good evening everyone.
Certainly the luck factor is one of the most important elements in poker.
I usually watch high level poker players, and I see that they are players who usually win a lot of All in, with medium and strong hands.
In my case, I lose a lot of All in with premium hands, I went All in against 2 players.
Hero KK
villain 1 with 99
villain 2 with JJ
Result I lost for both, one made three and another made a sequence.
If I win this All in I would be in first positions with the result I was practically eliminated.
The luck factor is very important, in addition to other factors.
That my opinion.

My opinion

It seems like luck but its actually a calculated hit on cards. Its easy to see if someone has it or is bluffing. However, when you go in with a hand where a card is probably coming you can get them to bet and nail on river. There are some people on on line poker that don't believe this so they do it back at you with no rhyme or reason with the cards. I would like to see them in real cards.

I also want to say that in the game a lot depends on your experience of the game, but it is on different types of games, if you play long MTT tournaments or sit-and-go games or somewhere in the game cache, then experience and skill of the game are very necessary there, and if the game takes place in tournaments where the stakes increase very quickly and you can’t concentrate in the game where all the players go all-in all the time it depends on luck, but I think that somewhere 80% to 90% of the skill and the rest depends on luck

Luck is a factor... You might be able to bluff from time to time, but you need the luck that your opponent is not sitting there with the nuts to make it work....

You also need luck with great hands. Because you will only win a lot of chips when you are lucky enough for one opponent to have a strong hand to pay you.

Skill is more important in live games where you can really get tells from opponents. It is much harder to read an oppoonent online, so luck is a bigger factor online i think.

As you go from the short-term to the long-term luck becomes less and less of an important factor for winning but even very high variance low blind stuctures have a skill edge to be realized the more you accumulate hands but this narrows down as blinds decrease until you reach 1 blind

It depends on situation on the table. Once you need luck with hand, otherwise you need to show your poker skills.
