i think you can play without intuition. most of the player dont have that. and i think intuition you have to be born with it. and dont think you can acquire.

Some people might be more talented than others but i don't think

There are really good courses to make you better at reading people. Some
pro players go as far as consulting professional profilers to learn more about
reading people. Be prepared to count how often your opponents breath, blink with their eyes
and track where they are looking at....

It's complicated but learnable. It's just another skill you have to master to become an outstanding poker player.

There are players who play by logic.

There are players with intuition.

Some players are just experienced.

But the right game leading to victories will always be one, and what ways you go to it does not matter. Everyone chooses what suits them, but the main thing is to make the right decisions

Playing with knowledge and intuition is a hard way to walk.
If you are playing at low stakes and in some moment you are at the final table with 5$ buy in and the 1st place give you 800$+ then you will find yourself who much you know already, or on which level you are.
One mistake or miss read can cost you lot of money and spent hours of reaching the FT.
Now imagine you are in a exclusive 10K Buy in tour and you have a maybe once in a lifetime chance to grab it and get those sweet millions, that one missed call it "intuition" can cost you literally life changing.
You would tell to yourself : "how in the world I tough that he don't have the Ace."
Imagine waking up and having all that pressure for that one mistake, because you was thinking that he have nothing.
Its really depends what kind of person is making the decisions. If you have a lifetime opportunity to change your life than you must be very very careful, since there is a chance you would never get to that point again as a not pro player.
Those kind of people eating the tournaments with million of prizes have learned, a ton of experience through the years and they have made a lot of money from it.
Its not the same making 5$ buy in error or making 10K$ buy in error, if you lose you have only 100K$ left in the bank mayb and if they loose they still have 5Mill.
Therefore it really depends who is making the bluff and who is on another side to try to read it and make killing move.

Some football players play 20 years and they never got on the level as C.Ronaldo for example.
In the nature there is always some alpha man who lead the tribe and have all the benefits, others are just his followers and listeners.

I agree, poker is a totally intuitive game, it is a game of observation and not interaction. But to achieve excellence I believe that you have to have a mixture of everything, skill and intuition, and you will acquire it with practice and experience.

intuition would be meaningless without having basic/advance skills and knowledge of statistics imo. even luck doesnt just occur out of nowhere. you have to have the skill to position yourself appropriately if luck is to have a chance.

I think logic and a sound mathematical game can get you a very long way. Developing a GTO strategy has created a raft of top online pros in the last few years.
But intuition can be the difference between being a top pro and being world class. I think this is what sets the likes of Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey apart from mere mortals. Their ability to pay attention to what everyone at the table is doing and to process that in such a way that they can tell what or how all the other players at the table are doing is almost superhuman.

It´s logic. Because all card games are definite.
But, I see many dramatic modes on Pokerstars.
For example, I had 3d4c & the other player had QdJd.
The flop was As2s5h.
I set a straight & put all-in & the other player called.
Turn & river were Tc & Kh.
It´s dramatic mode. However it´s very slight possibility. Because poker is definite.

logic in the game comes first because all actions in the game are based on mathematics, and intuition as a fallback sometimes helps.

I think that intuition and poker don't mix very much.
It is a decision-making game based on calculations and probabilities.

Strategy and statistics are okay for pros and book readers on the subject of poker, however, that will never compare to INTUITION. Intuition does not come from Nature; and the Law of Gravity does not come from there either. GOD has given Man (Woman) these gifts as well as Common Sense. We do not all use our common sense and we do not all Listen to our Screaming Intuition! Those that take time to listen to the Whisper of their Intuition are Gifted in Listening. GOD bless you all.

I think that poker has a lot of intuition.. But is very very difficult to use the intuition when you play with the computer..

That is a very interesting question. I think having good intuition is very beneficial - but you can still play reasonably successful with just good strategy in the beginning.

It is definitely something you would want to develop as you go and I think just paying very close attention to the players at your table and being focused helps a lot.

My opinion on intuition is, intuition is your subconscious trying to tell you something your conscious mind doesn't know. So yeah, starting out no one is going to have good poker intuition. It's basically the same as logic, the only difference is what level you're having the thoughts on.

I think it is possible to play successfully with, as you say, strategies and statistics. But takes a lot of study and practice and coaching. Which is why the vast majority of players struggle to build a bankroll...it's hard work and requires constant tuning to plug any leaks in your game. Most players who do well in poker, though, combine poker logic with intuition.

Intuition is one of those 'extras' packaged with your brain and body when you were born. You don't develop your intuition...it's already there in full bloom. What you need to develop is an awareness that you have it. Have you ever sat thru a string of unplayable hands where you just keep folding and then voila, the next hand appears and there;s a tiny little voice, so quiet you can't really hear it, that says play this hand. But then your logic brains no...my position sucks or the hand just won't work and you fold. And then you watch the board play out and realize you would have won a big pile of chips.

That's intuition giving you a wake up call. It doesn't ring often but when it calls...listen.

Yeah, the logic part is easy, all it takes is learning the game and playing as much as possible. Not using or even recognizing intuition when it comes around can be detrimental to your bankroll. The more I play the more I pick up from the players as they bob and weave in the orbits. Eventually each game is just about the same and logic along w/experience I find the right time to go w/my intuition; usually when I have 50+ BB's and find a 76-std in the cut-off facing a re-raise. Aaaaaahhh... man, I love poker.

It's possible to improve your math, logic, analysis experiencee but the question is - is it possible to improve your intuition? Is there any strategy for that? It seems that there is no chance to improve it if you aren't born with it.

Intuition is not trained, it is true, but I don't know how real it can be, maybe sometimes you get it right but many times you don't, many times I think my intuition saved me but many other times my game
