I live in the US, and never played live either. Going to a casino is a dangerous path, in my opinion.

I prefer online more than live. I can play four tables for example.
Can't do that in a live game.

Live game is less likely to be cheated if there is an automatic dealer versus if the deck is dealt from a dealers hands. Lots of cheating has been discovered in online software both with the collusion of players and even the poker site caught in some humdingers.

I played live very few times when I working in poker club in Mongolia. Live poker is you can feel more nice than online. but in Mongolia poker clubs are illegal now.(gambling prohibited)
I wanna play live. so good to feel cards and chips rather than computer mouse.

live is a lot slower paced then online. if you multi table you will have to get used to 12 hands an hr sometimes. but its definitely something to try because its a fun atmosphere to play in if the table is talkative ect. worth a shot if you can find a way to do it

i agree, but my question here is players tend to be more agressive online or live , do people do poker faces all the time like we see on wsop main events or players are talkative and things are kinda friendly

I live in the US, and never played live either. Going to a casino is a dangerous path, in my opinion.

The first time I played at a casino was a 1/2$ table at Winstar where they had like 50 poker tables and tons of people. I didn't like it but I won some hands but ended up losing most of the time. I moved back to my home town and played at the casino there after a year of absence and there was only maybe a total of 8 poker table and only 2 were playing. The people I was playing with were nice and sociable. I grown to love it and I can't wait to go back.

Live is really different but its really fun when you get into it. The socializing part is awesome but in tournaments it can get intense. I don't even know why I stopped playing in the first place.

Do you have any examples? People talk a lot about different sites being rigged, but I have never seen any reasonable prove. The only thing I saw are some ridiculous videos showing few bad beats.

As for collusion: software is getting better and better in detecting such patterns with usage of machine learning.

When you play live, there are so many things to track - your stack, opponents stacks, pot, chips values. It is really overwhelming at first, it is like whole new level added to the game - it turns out it is not that easy to handle the chips well at first ;). You should definitely try it, when you have a chance, cause it is much different if you only play online.

When it comes to "poker faces", even on WSOP and WPT etc. it depends on the table. WPT wanted to bring the rules forbidding sunglasses, hoodies, smartphones on the table. It seems like they brought some of these rules to pokerstars Monte Carlo championship, which takes place right now (I believe today is day 4). I haven't seen any sunglasses and hoodies and on featured table there were a lot of talks, partly because of Daniel Negreanu, who is quite engaging (he can be annoying at times, but at least there is some table talk guaranteed, when he is around). For similar reason, pokerstars started partnership with Kevin Hart (actor, comedian), who is very talkative and always brings fun to the table. It is much harder to be talkative when everyone has headphones, glasses and hoodie ;).

When it comes to aggression, people playing a lot live tend to think that live games are softer. There is great youtube poker channel made by Andrew Neeme: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLTP4Ns4v8EsVS0DVGugQrQ
He talks a lot about live poker, he analyses the hands, he has vlogs about earnings. According to him, live games are softer and actually it makes sense - online you are likely to face more grinders, live you are likely to face more people who came to the casino to play for fun.

I'm easier with this! For me poker is like a hobby and I do not hurry to play many tables. A simple game online or live at a table for me to rest and relax!

Just like sarniak stated there is no comparison between live and online poker, it's just insane but I highly recommend you trying it out sometime (if you get the chance to on holiday maybe, where you will be able to play legally). Definitely way more entertaining but at the same time way more slower compare to online, good thing is that if you go to your average Joe casino in a highly populated town you can find lot's of tourists/recreational players just going to have a blast and enjoy a few beers so you can definitely profit a ton from them as they will be focusing more of having a good time then actually playing poker which will result into easy money for you.

Transparency is important. For one thing, a place like Bovada/ignition Poker. They have anonymous tables. Players discover cheaters more than the software discovers cheating. Now that there are anonymous tables, there is no way players can detect as easily who is cheating them. Trusting the software to discover the cheaters is like letting the police police after themselves. We know where that leads to. Abuse with no accountability.

I go bonkers just hearing the clanging of the chips, so I do not do so well playing live.

Live is much softer than playing online. Everyone calls with soft hands, just because they don't want to hurt their pride and fold. You can make a ton of money playing live, but you have to keep your focus and be able to make the same sound decisions you make online, while not giving away your hand.

I did not have to play live. I want to try, but I do not have the opportunity. It seems to me that online poker is better than all.
