This is a discussion on Live or online? within the online poker forums, in the General Poker section; Where did you play first: live or online? Which do you prefer?
For me, it was live in Laughlin, NV.
I prefer live poker, but don't really
First time I learned poker (5 card draw) was in 5th grade and ever since then something about poker intrigued me. When I start playing hold'em it was with friends and family, then I would go to casinos and play live then this online epidemic happened and I play online too. It is more fun playing live because you can actually see people's tells and see if they are attempting to bluff (not all the time) so I think it's more fierce as well. Online you can sometimes tell if they are bluffing by learning their betting patterns. Both has it's pros and cons, online you can play multiple games at once but in live you can actually make new friends and talk with people if you're the talkative type. my 2 cents.
i first played poker live. i'm a live action junkie, what can i say? and prefer playing live action poker. i have seen way too many two outers hit the river in online poker to have any faith in that shit.
I prefer live, it's more social and thats where I'm comfortable. The speed of the game is also good.
Online is okay but I find it hard to concentrate enough because I'm just staring at a screen, but I understand the tournament opportunities are so much better online then live.. Especially with satelites and qualifiers to live events so I need to train myself ot enjoy the grind.
Many times this question has been on the forum Personally, I prefer live game because in online, I always have time to play.I like to play live, because you can look at the faces of the players, followed by their emotions and I always wait for the weekend to gather with friends at the table.
My first game was a freeroll tournament online
Then I started playing more freerolls and after that I became depositing money. Online you have better experience as you can play many tables at the same time.
I've played Live games too and I just love it to see my opponent's face when he looses money
I mostly prefer online, I agree with sup3rh0t "play many tables at the same time" Also online you can writing notes on players-in live tournament you cannot remember so much information, online all before the eyes!!!
First time I started playing live micro tournaments and after this I create PokerStars and FullTilt account. Without deposit on PokerStars I earn about 1,900.00$ .. Not bad without moneeeeey.. Now prefer only PokerStars and some cash games versus my friends .. for fun! :=)
I played live first. I enjoy both for much different reasons. Live can be fun because you see your opponents, you have physical chips, etc. The only downside is it is much slower. I like the volume of hands online, but I mix it up. I think some players are much better suited online and some are better live but I try to excel at both.
I prefer online gaming mostly because your opponent can't see you gestures. I tried also live play but that was a time I realized my poker face is my weakness. I started playing poker at the time I was 17 and for that reason I had to play through bitcoin online casinos. And the most reasonable site was Bitcoin-games.eu cause I could find there also another hazard games like slots, blackjackroulette and more. I am relly into hazard games.
I didin't play in live tournament, I'm just playing with my friends sometimes and I play online in PokerStars regularly. I started recently with no money deposit and I have earned some, so I dont know which type is more interesting, but in live games I think you can retrieve much more information about your opponents and thats the big plus, the big minus however is, that they can learn more things about you too
if this great tournament buy-in, then live, and in all other cases online. But if you weigh the pros and cons, the line has more pluses than minuses. 1. you can play anywhere. 2. zavhodno.3 do. playing several tables, even several rooms. But live is one advantage - tells
I´m steal a begginer at poker so, for now i´ve just played online. On my view, online is like a preparation to live tournments, but this "preparation" should never end. I hope that, someday, i will be able to participate on a important live tornment like EPT or WSOP...
