Has anyone here participated in live games? I only play online for cash, live I only play with friends, no money, I'm curious about what a live tournament with strangers is like.

Bunch of people gathering and trying to win some money.
Live games offer more tells and acting, it is up to you decide to the best of your ability to narrow down what your opponent has and act accordingly as if you were playing online. Very important how you portray yourself too because other people try to pick up on tells you show to determine their next decision.
Personally at live games I tend to feel a minor anxiety initially but I mellow out as the game goes on and I get familiar with my opponents. You also might feel a bit of an overwhelming rush inside your body when getting good hands or attempting to bluff.
Live games are a great way to play and I strongly reccommend it.
P.S. You'll find more fish / recreational players who are often intoxicated and make bad decisions.

Thanks for the reply, I thought I would find more pro players in this game mode.

You'll find a variety of players. Obviously the guys/girls who play tight aggressive should be avoided unless you have an incredible hand. Look for players who make loose calls and donks who don't stop betting with bottom pairs.

It is a totally different experience to play Pocket live as it includes many values includes many situations nervousness and different things, instead of playing online you can yell you can curse you can say many different things than being at a table with other players who are watching your behavior:D:D:D

At many poker rooms, you cannot choose your opponents…the poker room host will assign your table. If you are just starting out playing live poker, you should probably start with a $1/$2 table. The other players may be regulars, but that doesn’t mean they are poker experts…most are there for the entertainment, not making a living at poker…so relax and enjoy.

I play some live tournaments and cashgames in casino's in Europe, my highest buy in is the EPT main a few times in Barcelona (5300 euro).

Like to play 110 euro - 1100 the most, but EPT Main in Barcelona is always nice.
