What happened to Limit Hold'em Poker?
casinos and online poker rooms have far fewer options for limit hold'em games.
Which do you prefer - limit or no-limit?
Why?
Do you ever play limit hold'em?
What do you see as the ONE BIGGEST reason you prefer one over the other?

Sadly I agree, and I think it's a shame because it's a decent game as a cash game , or in a mixed tournament.

pokerstars recently reduced the Mixed holdem option which was a really neat format because it's far easier for beginners to interact with, and yet a serious player can still have an advantage by knowing the maths well.

As limit dies out I'm seeing newer and interesting formats crop up, some of them targeted at recreational players, but for me nothing beats limit as an introduction to the game.

Well, I play LIMIT omaha. And, yes, I like it very much, much better than no limit omaha.
Hold'em is completely different story. With tournaments it ain't popular, but I think there is appetite for pot limit cash games.

I think it was dying years ago. Limit poker (at least heads-up) was actually solved by computer which means a computer player can play it perfectly. It's just pure math, not much of psychology there. Of course with more people at the table it becomes more complicated but it's still a lot of math and sense of progress is slow. It's not attractive to money-giving players so it also can't be attractive to mone-gaining ones. Therefore it's not that popular anymore.

No Limit Hold'em is the ultimate hit in the poker world these days. He squeezed the position of limited poker during the so-called "poker boom" and became the most popular format of the game.

Yeah, didn't PS used to have Limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Hold'em?

It is a shame and whilst the argument can be made that Limit Hold'em has been solved (essentially it was) most will never play against a computer (why or how would they?).

That said though, if the games were popular they would be featured more so its pointless to lament them disappearing, regardless of whether I enjoy them personally.

I see it the same, the most famous form of poker is that of unlimited holdem poker, the rooms are always going to put games where people like it and play the limit of holdem poker is, I think, the least played but for pleasure are the colors each one will have a preference for each option, I prefer the unlimited one, I think it would be more logical, for me it is my favorite game.

I gegan playing limit holdem cash games , it helped me seeing many mistakes , cause in NLH , learning from every mistake would mean losing many more stacks for every wring aggressive all in , especially call to an opponent :)

But for years now I do not play , don't like it , maybe one day I 'll play it again for some time for fun , nothing else . Many see too many hands , so many ATC , turn and river surprise you so much , losing so much :(

I prefer NL Hold'em. This type of poker is the most popular, and therefore, there is always a large selection of tournaments.

I prefer NLH, I think is game of more strategy and poker skills than LH. Actually, I don’t remember the last time that I had played limit holdem.

When I first started playing, I read books on how to play fixed limit (Ed Miller's books I think) and started on Pokerstars, was also the only live game I ever played in Vegas (a very nice 80 year old lady took my buy-in, she was a shark [emoji23]).

It is a great fundamental game to teach you hand range and the math side of things. It's also important for the mental part of bankroll since you really don't end up spending that much at any one time unless you just click the raise button endlessly. It is after a while quite boring, so NL is really where you want to go eventually.

I have a soft spot for it and they should really keep it around for beginners, but if computers can beat it, then maybe it doesn't make sense to offer it online anymore. Bit of a shame, really

Since Black Friday it is really hard to get a game with a buy-in. Use to play on PS and FT but there not much out there that run. NLHE is my favorite game, but now and then Limit is nice change.

I don't remember when was the last time I even saw Limit Holdem being offered at any online poker room. There is still Pot Limit Omaha and it will be there for the players to play something different than No Limit Holdem, but Limit Holdem isn't popular nor interesting for anyone anymore.

Unfortunately, I agree and find it a shame that No Limit Hold games will end on ps
