Cheetah,
Is there anyway to scale back the number of days on the graph? I don't know if it's cause I'm now over 100 days or not but it just shot up to 600 and I feel like it makes part of my graph difficult to read.

Damn, the scaling algorithm is horrific. FYI, I haven't written it, it is part of the Perl package I use.

I will see what I can do.

Guys, I tweaked the graphing options. It now seems to stretch the graph properly, but there is a small number of vertical lines.

If I increase the number of vertical lines, the algorithm in the package makes crazy scaling decisions. Short of me re-writing the algorithm and modifying the package, there is no fix for that.

So please let me know what you prefer for the time being:
  1. proper stretching with fewer vertical lines, or
  2. more lines at the expense of not very good scales at times.
It is currently left at (1).

Modest table performance last two days. Still getting points for bonuses and promotions at full tilt poker and pokerstars. Gain for day 14 includes Ten Rex "Almost longest lasting" prize. Whatever works, I guess. The amount of playing I have done has garnered me two freerolls last month and six this month. Now if I can just cash in a couple of them. :D This month four PokerStars tournaments have top prize around $500 each; I have played one and did not place. Iron man silver next weekend has a top prize $1700; 938 entries and pays 360 places starting at $22.50. The sixth tournament had a prize of entry to EPT and $1000, but just a single winner. Played that one already and did not win.

After fifty some odd days I'm going to make a decision to call it quits, at least for now.
I really hope you'll come back. Maybe you should take a longer break and redecide afterwards?

On that note, where is Boltneck? You still there, Bolt?

So please let me know what you prefer for the time being:

  2. more lines at the expense of not very good scales at times.

I'd say (1) is perfectly fine.

Cheetah, I appreciate the chart work. Any reasonable changes are fine. However, I have not seen any with your name on them. Do you play poker?

About 5 hours per day is what I'm averaging. This works out to roughly 1,500 hands a day.

Just remember, past performance is no guarantee of future results. Works here just like in the stock market. But, congratulations on turning that line around.

Bad day Monday. Played tired which probably caused some of the dip. Suckouts were bad, though. Probably done for today, which was better, getting the loss back and a bit. Much due to a real fish. bankroll getting close to being able to play $3/$6 again.

I assume you multi-table. How many at a time? Sorry if you answered this already.

At the moment I play 4 tables of 6-max. That's just the right amount to keep me busy without being overwhelming.

Progress Update

Day 69: 398% ($7,950)
Day 70: 509% ($10,181)
Day 71: 499% ($9,984)

Well, today didn't go quite as smoothly as yesterday but at least I almost broke even.

Since I'm now back to playing higher limits, I should be able to clear the Platinum level on Stars fairly quickly. From there on out, the goal is obv. Supernova to maximize my FPP.
I did get a bunch of bonuses every month at Hollywood, so earning FPP is now the only way to get any kind of rakeback.

Boltneck hasn't logged on to CC since New Years Eve. I hope partying was not too much for him.

Actually, I disagree, although I realize you said this half-jokingly.:)

The stock market (and similar markets) are subject to random external forces that cannot be quantified in a systematic approach.

In poker, if a person is a winning player (which can be tested statistically), AND if that player doesn't change when things go bad (BIG IF, for sure), AND if that player practices prudent bankroll management, then winning in the long run is the only statistically probable outcome.

Chris, I am curious why you don't seem to play SNGs anymore. Do you think cash games are more profitable or is that just a preference issue for you?
