Minimum for 100/200 limit is $1000. Limit has no maximum. Min and max for 30/60 NL is $1200/$3000.

The minimum is about a quarter of what I want to play with at limit. Stars default is OK, ftp default is half of this.

i think that poker sites should have an option where you can set bankroll management stuff, but they would have to make it so that the settings cannot be changed.

flawed.

They have no incentive to do that. That way, even "winning" players with bad BR skills get to deposit.

Actually, 2 weeks is way too long.

Let me suggest an easy way to turn $75 into $5,000 in 6 hours!
  1. Buy-in in a $75 STT SnG.
  2. If you get in the money, play a $150 STT SnG.
  3. If you get in the money, play a $300 STT SnG. (Note: I am assuming a modest win here, say 3rd place most of the time.:) )
  4. Do it 3 more times.
You now have $5,000! Congratulations!:D

With no disrespect intended, you'll be saying next that Turkeys should vote for Christmas (or Thanksgiving if they're American turkeys). I know some / many / most / all sites have a responsible gambling policy, and options to limit your deposits, but I somehow can't see them cutting off some of their potential income by doing this.

Of course, if they did it would be one for the "it's rigged / juiced" camp to ponder on (sorry - couldn't resist a minor trolling, since this is potentially a trolling thread)!!

Actually, if pokersites were to get in bed with the lending industry, that would be really good for them. Imagine if they started extending credit to players! Of course, that would require them to be regulated so they can rip the benefits of charging obscene interest rates and going after unpaid debts.

I have always found it funny that they have these limits to prevent people from "gambling". Arguably, many more people are addicted to shopping. I don't see credit card companies complaining. They usually raise your limits.

Or how about your stockbroker limiting your actions because you may be a compulsive losing stock trader? Or mutual funds setting limits of $1,000 per week so you don't over-invest?

If you do too much of anything it is not good for you. Singling out gambling is stupid, IMO.

It has nothing to do with that at all. Credit card companies don't give a flip whether you gamble or not. The problem is underage gambling - if a charge is made on a card by a minor the credit card companies are held responsible for allowing the charge to go through. Since they have no way of checking id's for these online charges they have to deny all of them to protect themselves.

Trust me - they would love nothing more than for you to max your card out gambling online lol.

I know your post is kind of tongue in cheek, but I doubt the lending industry with the present mess it's gotten itself in with the subprime mortgages would like to engage gamblers in lending agreements.

Actually, why not? The lending industry out-gambled the gamblers. Perhaps lenders could learn some restrain from the gamblers.:D

At least they could get assistance in forming the support group Lenders Anonymous.:D

Although this thread has seemingly gone off on a tangent, with reference to the OP, one night I played in two tourns, 1 of which was a freeroll and went from a BR of $0 to once of $2898. Although this is obviously different as I hit big in an MTT, I guess I can imagine this happening.... But wow does screwball annoy me! So yeah I vote troll :D

Still waiting on those screen shots screwball. I'd also still like to observe you play, so what's your user name? Come on, show us some proof.

This thread should be locked imho. It's gotten way out of hand.

Yes, way more than you should expect. I'd cash out for most of it and play within your comfort range. Part of playing poker is for the entertainment factor, not always to make money. Play w/in limits. Peace.

Wow

When i played out of my limits I busted. I don't recommend it. You feel low for a few days after you bust. Except all my money was from freerolls and winnings of them so it wasn't too bad.
