How long would you go without playing poker again? I would only play if there was nothing else to do. I'd probably go a couple of years but if I didn't need to play I wouldn't play and I would stretch that ten million for ten million years. That's seriously how I feel. Poker is a stressful game.

I wouldn't go back to play. Becase also if one is getting older, priorities changes, personality changes under pressure of all experiences accumulated through time.
Poker is essentially just outplaying other people for money. It doesn't make happy anyone. Because even if you win money, someone had to lose money. Only one, who is happy is casino getting rake. Sad

Why would I go any amount of time without playing?

I'd get my debts paid, put some money to work with investments and then live life on poker vacations. Hitting up all the various spots and big mtt's around the world and stick around to see the sights once the poker grind period was finished up.

I play the game because I love the game, so i would obviously play more live and bigger tournaments and see the world in the process.

Besides it might seem like a lot of money but you would be surprised at how quickly someone can blow through so much if they don't manage it correctly. Just look at how many people out there have won massive lotteries and within ten years are absolutely broke again.

It doesnt matter how much you win i like playing poker ,if you are afraid to loose all of your budget and thats why you dont want to play means you cant control yourself if you think its stressful play small buy- ins but stress of the game wins lost hands all that makes poker interesting sometimes you need a break ...but not that long

I wouldn't wait to play. I enjoy playing! I think having that size of a bankroll would take the stress out of the play and you could just enjoy the game. And I agree with BluffMeAllIn, I would do some traveling around the world to play poker and do some sightseeing at the same time. And probably take one of the poker cruises too!

One happiness, a lot of losses. I would have after such a win never to play poker. Well, except that in the chips to entertainment.

I'd play when I had the chance to.

I'd save the money to live very well. I'd travel the world with my wife, would watch great sports events, shows, etc

Poker during intercontinental flights? While in the beach? LOL

I like playing poker. If I won a crazy amount of money I'd do more of what I liked. Ergo, I'd probably play more poker.
(Disclaimer: BRM would still be a primary concern. If I could only beat 2NL then that's all I would be playing)

I would rather invest the money to grow more for sure things like business.

I will play poker but just for past time and make myself busy for many other things I missed in my past life.

Offcourse I would withdraw almost all the money and apply in some projects, investiments etc.. With the earnings of those investments, I would play poker for fun hehehe..

I am retired and I only play poker as a hobby. I would play on occassion still but with ten million I could afford a much more interesting hobby to be determined later.
I make no money on poker but the good news is that it also costs me noting but my time and since I play it to use up my time it still costs me nothing.
I should get a life.

I think a more pertinent question would be, "What would you do if you won $200k."

The reason I pick $200k is because that's about what you'd get for winning the Sunday million. That's a realistic target for most of us because even if playing the Sunday Milly is violating BRM, it's legitimate that some of us might take it as a shot or satty in. To win $1million, you're looking at playing something with a buyin of $5k. To win the aforementioned $10million, you'd have to win the wsop Main Event because that's the only $10k tournamnet that's oink to even come close to awarding $10mil. And if you're playing the $10k main, you're either taking a big shot or you have an established roll already.

There's another thread that I think is still ongoing about how much would you need to win to go pro. If I won $5mil, I'd be rolled for $10k's for a good long time, so I'd probably go on the circuit. But even if I won $200k, I'd probably put half of that to paying for university, finish my degree, and then use the other half to try my hand at going pro.

Oh gosh! I would invest that in everything I've always wanted to do and guarantee that I'd only work with something I really love. And of course make something to help others in need somehow. ;) And continue playing Poker just for fun.

I would give away over a million

After that, I would play in some $10,000 to $25,000 entry fee tournaments, I miss Las Vegas, I'd like to buy a really nice vehicle and drive it to Vegas!!!

Yeah that's a high amount to get your head around really 1/10th of that is still a huge amount... but the premise of the question suggests people only play Poker to make money, not for just the enjoyment of playing...

Most top Pros have enough money to retire on now but they still continue to play ! How much money is enough ?

There's 2 main reasons to play Poker... Enjoyment and Financial Gain... It's a sliding scale for each individual as to which is more important but I would guess more people play for enjoyment than just the money !

I read somewhere that about 20% of people make a profit playing Poker... That suggests 80% of players enjoy playing even though they lose money

But then again... If I had $10 million I'd probably be far too busy spending money to play Poker LOL...

I would use ten million to make more money. It wouldn't matter how I did as long as it wasn't illegal. I would stake some people in tournaments as far as poker and put the rest into investments like etrade, real estate, small franchises, etc.

I would buy a mountain and build a house for each of my siblings around it, then invest the remainder in a smart way that insures that I continually profit from it.

I would not stop playing, because it is a game that matches with the kind of games I like. It has action, and needs some skills. If you act wisely you will see an evolution!

I love poker and I will keep playin even if I would win 100mil. The second reason is that I do not play only for money. Its a pleasure also.
