I've made over $5000 on pokerstars in about 2 weeks since my last deposit of $75. Am I making too much too fast?

If you see 09kKahneFan, you should play heads up and fold everyhand.

Seriously though WTF?! How the heck did you turn $75 in to $5K?! I can't turn $75 into $150 without going card dead. Did you play in some MTTs?

I'm having a hard time seeing what the problem is at this point. Except that, if this really is true, and you didn't spike a big MTT win, then you are obviously playing way outside your bankroll limits.

I'm guessing you want to keep that $5000 and continue to build on it. I'm curious as to what limits you are currently playing at. If they are too high, then, to avoid going bankrupt with the inevitable downswing, you need to reevaluate, and drop down if needed.

There's a great section about managing your bankroll in our Online Poker Guide.

You MUST consider the possibility that you are on a rush of EPIC proportions.

Of course, you could be the best player to come along ever, but you should continue playing a solid game, and NOT get frivolous.

Huh? To be honest i started off playing on the $1/2 limits and everytime I start getting bad beats and cold hands, i'd say **** it and i'd go on tilt to the $30/$60 tables and end up lucking out or getting some monster hands and monster flops or hitting a miracle river. After i've made enough i'd go back to the 1/2 tables and if i went cold again, I go right back to the 30/60 limts. I have been on tilt for the past 2 weeks. a couple days ago, I went cold on the 30/60 limits and ended up playing in the 100/200 limits with my remaining bank roll (suicidal I know) and ended up winning big. I have a huge tilt problem. I should have been broke sooooo many times a looooong time ago. Anyone want to see screen shots of my bank roll? I play on stars

Let's see the screen shot's then. If you can't come up with them then you're obviously wasting everybody's time. What's your user name on poker stars? I'd like to observe your play for a while.

Ok, I will also post some of my major hand histories where I took down some major pots and caught some miracle rivers and made some major bluffs. I have one question, what program do I use to take a screen shot of my bank roll? Give me a name and I will show some screen shots for all to see since some of you think i'm full of it.

Hit the key called "print screen" or "prt sc" on your keyboard. Then paste it in that magical program called "Paint".

If this is true, you are crazy paying 30/60 and 100/200 with that bankroll. If it's not true you are crazy for posting this. Either way IMO you should use the money to seek professional help.

i think that poker sites should have an option where you can set bankroll management stuff, but they would have to make it so that the settings cannot be changed.

flawed.

flawed.

And it would be harder for you to dump your money on rakes and buy-in fees if you couldn't go on tilt.

----------------------------------------------------

Ah, you played the 1/2 tables. I can see how you can quickly build a stack that way. If you happen to hit a really good roll and then head over to the 30/60 tables and snag a good run their as well. However, I would caution, as everyone else has, to use good BRM or you almost definitely will hit a cold spell. And seeing how you admit to going on tilt, you could probably whipe out your $5K in one night easily. I don't know your financial status, but my own would be: Cash out $4000 - $4500, pay some bills and start again with the remaining.

To the naysayers here, take a look at CF's run, in just 38 days he went from $605.49 (7-10-07) --> $17,747.32 (8-17-07). I'm sure it took a run of good cards/fish to help that along, but it can be done.

I've never had the BR to hit higher tables, but I know I can sit @ a .05/.10 table with $2.50 and hope to double up but then with a few good hands I'm at $25.XX or so. So, if you move the decimal a few spot, sit down with $250 and leave with $2500. Do that twice and there you go $5K.
