How did you find out about poker?

I wonder how they knew about poker?
Friends, family, coincidences?

For my part I remember that when I was 15 years old I played pool on Facebook and once it closed so I entertained myself playing other games such as roulette and poker, I did very well at poker that day so I took a liking to win and now here we are 6 years later losing many times more than I win:frown:

For me, I began watching NLHE on TV when I was in my late teens, right around the time Moneymaker won big and started the poker boom. When I turned 21 in college, I started playing poker online for play money and (when I had the cash) at my local casino about once a month.

Didn't know anything, played dumb, lost a lot of money.

15-20 years later, I've learned a lot, have become profitable (as a hobby) and am now branching out to more variants.

I found about poker thanks to the Zynga poker on facebook. I remember it was super popular back in the day and everyone is playing it, they did not have MTT's and they still don't have them for some reason . Many years later i found out about pokerstars and that it is actually possible to play for real money and that there are big tournaments being held online, i got really interested again.

I found out about poker when I was watching TV 14 years ago and espn was showing an event of wsop. I thought the game was really interesting and I was already playing online in the same week.

My great-aunt would always have cards and coins for betting when we visited her and my brother and I would play hundreds of silly card games with her.

When I got older I started playing Play Money games on partypoker and someone sent me $50 real money one day as part of an affiliate promo.

Ran good in my first few tournaments and played until the UIGEA debacle in the US.

Back to playing for fun now in freerolls.

My first experience with poker was in 2008 after I saw the movie casino royal of james bond on TV.

I played a lot of freerolls on Everest, Full Tilt and PokerStars back then. Then I played tournaments for a few years, until I finally met the love of my life and then poker became less and less in my life.

Since June 2020 we have discovered poker again and found the joy in it.
Now I am fresh fish and have to learn everything back.

at the age of 17, i was out with some friends in a bar restaurant. after drinking a few beers. they started playing poker. I found out about poker and other card games from my family playing. I recall learning how to play playing with match sticks on family vacations many years ago.
