Further Elaboration on An Interesting Experience...
Lost $150 in Valentines Day Couples Tournament, (a tournament we had cashed for approx. 2k in the previous few years, and should have been a K or so more... I digress). Followed-up by a $200 (No Bueno) loss at the Limit Hold'em tables (not my favorite game for a reason). Not a good day.
So Negative $350 welt it is (I still have a scar). :frown:

So, back to the Valentine’s Day Couples Tournament at a local casino. We were at the Final Table with 6 couples left (the top 5 get paid). The format is that one person per couple plays for 30 minutes (two blind levels), other person has to leave the poker room, so... we were co-chip leaders with 4 much smaller stack couples. So, I am outside the room negotiating with the other 5 non-playing equally minded parties as to how to chop the pay-out and go on our way (we had been playing for several hours). We were dealing with a $5k total payout, and all were onboard with a 1500-1500-500-500-500-500 chop. We just had to notify the dealer to stop play and consult other partners.
Whoops, my gal walks out to greet us... OH NO! She got into a tussle with the other Big Stack and came out on the short end. He was by far the most accomplished player in the game (a regular successful cash player at the casino) and he took all her chips with a boat vs her A High Flush.
That was painful, but that is the way poker goes sometimes!

P.S. - When I lost the $200 at the Limit Hold'em Tables, my mind-set might have been less that perfect...lol!
