how much money did you start playing poker with? and how long are you now

i start with freerolls, later 20, win 100 and start over, thats my way.

Literally the money in my wallet. While playing live I’ve never had a true bankroll. Life and responsibilities prevents this for me. Online I normally have a few hundred on there at any given time.

I started in a tournament for 100 and placed 3 or 4 that got me 900 back. I have never gone below that 900 since. Currently up over 20,000 in casual play. But I have never made the leap to higher stakes games until this year and then C- 19 hit, so waiting to resume once we have the all clear.

Same. Currently, I only play freerolls and "play-chip" events. I might play for real money in the near future - but right now I am just learning the game and refining my skills

In total, I started with $ 20. I started playing poker about 3-4 years ago, and in all that time, I have spent no more than $ 100.

My first play was with some 40$ and I wasted em pretty quick. After some time, I gained experience and was much more cautious and played lower stakes. Now I play much better and am having larger bankroll.

When I started a long time ago I used to only play freerolls and never had to deposit. I stopped to play for a couple of years and when I came back the freerolls were not good as used to be so I set a deposit limit of $100 per month when it’s necessary.

I started on ACR with $0 and I've played like 50 freerolls tournaments to get up to the $30 I have now. Now with this $30 I'm playing a tiny bit of .01/.02 cash, and some 0.11 and 0.27 tourneys to balance out my still heavy volume freerolls. The biggest thing with building from 0 is patience, because sometimes you'll play a tournament for 3 hours only to win a dime.

I have never entered any money into ACR. i did put in $50 to Pokerstars, Unibet, and full tilt. got some back when poker went south. never putting money in again. the thrill is in playing not how much i'm playing for. So if its just free rolls so be it.

In the beginning it was the play money on Pokerstars. After that there were freeroll tournaments - which gave the first bankroll ... At that time it was 12 $.

Started with $50.00 on PokerStars and never looked back. Few months later, repeated it on Full Tilt. Might have done $25.00 on Carbon but can't remember.

I started playing poker with freerolls 3 years ago and try to deposit $10 to withdraw the money. I withdrew many times and never have to put more money in the poker since then.

i deposited $20 at Pokerstars several years ago, then i have only deposited money that i have earned in several rooms.

Online - I have only deposited $50 on one site and on all other sites used freerolls to build my bankroll. I like to keep 100 buy-ins at micros in the cashier and cash out anything above that.

I started and continue to play only for the money won from freerolls (fortunately, there were more than enough of them to build a bankroll). Now I have some money to feed my game with!

I call it the fisherman's method or bait method.

To explain....the fisherman who uses fake bait...if successful can pull a lot of fish out from that one bait.

Start with a tournament or cash game where the buy-in is $20 or $40. I think I used $40. If in a cash game, you win a good hand and turn your $20 into $45...STOP! Withdraw ONLY WHAT YOU WON. In this case the $25 dollars. Sometimes, I wouldn't even continue playing until after I went to a ATM and actually withdrew that $25 dollars. Then, I would use the $20 that's left in the account and do it all over again! The $20 dollars is the bait! Whatever you profit is the fish. There's times when I would do one good hand.....PER DAY. So like in the case I just mentioned....after I withdrew that $25 dollars. I wouldn't play again till the next day. I used to love playing $40 tournaments, making it pass the bubble and profiting $30, $40, $50, $60 or $70, withdrawing the profit and waiting till tomorrow to play with the $40 again until I lost the $40. I would have lost the $40 but I would have made $100, $200 or $300 by then. Ahhhhhhhhh….good times LOL!............Wait!!! I forgot to explain the Title! LOLOLOL! So the reason why I stated what I stated about PokerStars being paranoid and probably just about every other online site is because this method breeds suspicion. PokerStars felt as though I was withdrawing too many times and suspected I was laundering money! So yeah, my account got suspended a lot. This lead me to try out the live circuit and I found I'm way more successful live. So after Covid-19 is gone, I'm going live as much as possible!
