How Do You Pass Time While Playing?
As most of you know, people who play live often riffle the chips or do some other fancy things with the chips, but what do you do to pass the time behind your computer screen (I think most CardsChat members are online player)
I myself can't play many tables at a time because of my small BR, so sometimes I have only one or two tables running. I needed something to pass the time so I started learing the riffling with the chips myself. I must say, it is pretty fun and it provides a relaxing sound.
What do you to pass the time while one / two tabling?
When I'm playing low stakes and not multitasking I'll play music and shuffle chips. Not reccomended at high stakes proportionally to your bankroll. If your bankroll is too small to multi table you should be spending as much time as you can studying and focusing on the games you are playing.
Hi. I usually only play a couple of tables at a time myself. I like to put a twitch stream up in the background when I'm playing. It can be kind of semi-social (especially if you participate in the chat at all), and most of the time there isn't anything so exciting going on that you can't easily tune it out when you're focusing on your game. Ofc everyone is different, but I find that less distracting than music. Hearing the chatter is closer to what it sounds like live which is what I was used to.
I did the same thing as you I learned to shuffle chips as I started playing online when I was *cough* years old. I did it because it make it easier for me to concentrate one thing if I'm doing something mindless and repetitive like shuffling chips or tapping a pen. Listening to music helps as well. I can't play live without shuffling chips or constantly doing other chip tricks. I do take breaks to sip my beer or whiskey thou
Normally, I will play two tables at a time. However, if I am playing an important tourney, I find it's actually better for me to just watch a tv program on a small screen on my computer. Somehow I find it calming and I don't get too intense or impatient with the game.
I found that having snacks tends to help me pass the time.. Sometimes a little music to drowned out any outside noise. Then other times, just staying focused and trying to make every possible read on every possible player during hands I'm not even playing in helps.
The best thing to do is to be totally focused on your game , I listen to music or I have twitch stream on but I prefer listening than watching[have 2 monitors]. I don't like chatting etc because is so distracting.. of course is more easy to do that if you one tabling!
great question. I watch tv alot when i am playing, but i also like to watch the other players to see how they play. I also like to listen to music while playing that keeps me motivated. I also like to cruise the internet while playing.
I play Sid Meiers Civilization 6 on borderless windowed mode, so everytime its my turn on pokertables, the table pops up. I know where my table is positioned so I do not click there while I play civilization in order to avoid misclicks. I have to say - it passes time pretty well and it is even possible to play TWO tables in paralell with Civ 6
