So I think Im down to my last few good knuckles and my doors are on their last hinges, you can probably tell I don't tilt well. I was just wondering how others deal with a bad session?

Change your mind set. Play with money you can afford to lose. Become a emotionless cyborg. Focus on 1 hand at a time. Also focus on playing well not about the outcome of the hand. All you can do is play well the cards fall where they may. Also stop playing poker if you can't handle bad beats because they never stop happening.

Having a real bad couple of months myself. This is where bankroll management is critical having knowing a couple of days who have spewed recently. Maybe a case of finding someone to talk 2 over some hands or taking a couple of days off, review hands, go back read some books until u feel refreshed. Badbeats happen, no way they can be stopped but donking off your bankroll can be avoided

Yeah I often do detach myself from the outcome if I know I have played the hand to the best of my ability, it's still hard to totally avoid tilting.

I agree, I need to read up more on bankroll management. There are some sessions I just go into full mindless gambler mode if I had had a really crap week. I think I'll take breaks away from the table more often. Thanks

Occasionally I just get drunk. Though if I would get drunk every time I had a bad session (I play MTTs) I doubt I would live very long.

I think the most common problem people have when they have a bad session, is that they start spewing their bankroll playing higher limits with money they can't afford to lose. When I have a bad session or feel like I'm tilting, I take the rest of the day off and do something completely different to take my mind off it. To prevent tilting, just concentrate on one hand at a time and making the right decisions. Remember, you can't control the outcome of the hand when the cards are dealt on the table.

It is difficult to control in a bad session, but once you get away half the input is lost, if played at high input tables. we all have bad times but you must learn to control these bad times to keep his bankroll.

It is useless. You just need to start a new one.

I dont feel too bad about a bad beat. Whatever happened, happened.

If i face a second bad beat again in a short period of time, i just log off and play the next day.

Try to forget the bad hands, the pots that you lost. Get away a few days from poker. When you come back, verify if your moves are the correct ones, if they don't try to study more.

You have to ATTEMPT to move past them and play a hand at a time, but oh my how that is much much easier said than done. I to will go on tilt, especially online when I am home alone and can truly erupt.. haha, but that being said I do try to move past it as quickly as I can, and refocus myself for the next pot I am going to have my eyes on.

my bad sessions are usually lose everything, my bank is not very high .. but I have a bad habit of playing levels not for me and its consequences are the sum of stroke and the loss of it by committing the serious mistake of not Close session.

Go do something unrelated to poker. If you don't have another hobby, get one.

I just take a step back and do something that will take my mind off everything going on. Remind myself that with ups come downs and to just focus on what I can control.
