We get together every so often and play some cards. A couple of the games have a ridiculous amount of wild cards. I was always taught that a wild card had to match something, otherwise it was just its face value. Example : 7 and 7 (7 stud, 7's are wild). If you first card up is a 7, its just a 7 until you have another card to go with it. If someone else has a higher card they get to lead off the betting. Does anyone know if this is standard? This past weekend we were playing a game with lots of wilds, I caught 5 aces, A A A K 4 with Kings and your lowest down card wild. Guy next to me had K K K 3 3 and said he had 5 aces. I argued that he could only have 5 Kings I was shot down by the rest of the table and had to split with him. Any other home game players out there have an idea if there's an official rule on this?
