I once took a break from poker for half a year after losing $ 100 of my money, but then I saw a lot of freerolls and decided to play them and this way I returned to poker.

I tried to quit playing poker when I read articles about bots at pokerstars and believed in them myself, when I started losing money there all the time, but then I changed my mind and continued to play.

I did for a few years due to work and life, but then the lockdown started last year and I got back into it, I haven't been to work for nearly a year or so due to me having health problems and also now me being pregnant so got nothing really to do when the children are at Nursery so I play for a few hours when I have my balance

Wish I had the courage to change my daily routine more, sitting and playing poker is good but there are much better ways to spend time

Have you ever thought about quitting poker?
Have you ever thought about not getting banned?

In the interest of discussion rather than topic starter...

Around the lower reaches of the dark depths of a serious downswing, there is an area one humorously refers to as the ‘whatever they need’ zone. I’ve heard others call this place ‘deathswitched’. Variance pockets that extreme lead to many ‘wtf, it’s rigged’ type posts & threads.

Spending enough time there is enough to make anyone quit!

Almost...

i felt a lot of desire when i started playing, but after i started to respect the rules and my opponents, i don't see myself giving up on something so wonderful.

I must say, when the lights are way to low and the eyes get heavy, the bad beats make for a song, dream on , until next time I'll quit for the night !

Regardless of my results, I never thought about it. For me, poker is a hobby, a pastime that brings me pleasure and joy. So I see no reason to quit playing.

I had to quit first playing online casinos and making deposit. After that i did the same with poker but i still like to play freerolls and maybe i just bullshit myself by telling, im doing it because i like the game itself with strategy and everything from math and theories based on science and calculating.

But i am In a poiny where my playing makes my important relationship on the edge. I think there is no golden place between after playing alot In your life with real money. Maybe i should start only to play sudoku, crosswords, chess ETC without money included In it?

And this sounds stupid as a recovered hard time drug addict but if it makes me relationship worse with someone i love. Then i just shouldnt maybe even play freerolls even though i dont deposit anymore.
My wife just haves really bad memories from People with gambling addiction aswell so i understand why she gets angry because i have did that i wont play anymore. But still i play freerolls and she dont understand anything about these things and even wont listen "any excuses" but cant blme her after all she have been gone trough with me. Damn she is the most powerful person and maybe my "love" for poker can just stop being part of my life and shouldnt play even freerolls etc..

How can you forget what you have learned? It's impossible to quit poker if you start playing, just keep it to yourself.

No, I never thought of quitting. Resting and taking a break, yes, but I can hardly imagine stop playing poker.

why give it up), the main thing is not to slip into gambling addiction, and so some people even enjoy losing, just having a good time playing their favorite game

Yes, not only did I think about it, but I gave up playing poker. But I still came back to it because it's the best card game ever.

Have you ever thought about quitting poker?

I am still thinking about it, I have not played seriously for over a year now and it has been over 2 and a half years since I played a live game at my local pub!
I keep saying I am going to go back but to be totally honest I can drink every night sat at home for less than what it would cost me to have a night out at the pub, when you take into account the price of pub beers and taxi fares plus the buy-in, I am better off staying in.
This covid pandemic has change a lot of things.
