i'm starting to wonder? i have seen alot of god awful poker playing and it is increasing the more i play.

all in with nothing on the flop to hit runner, runner, gut shot all ins. and hit it, like they know it is coming??

are more craps players playing poker, betting on the come?

i've been thumped out of a few tourneys in a row (after being in the money or at the final table) with made hands getting ousted by 2 outers hitting and runner, runner
...there is one guy who has done it to me three times now in the past few weeks....i think he plays for the site, cause how else, and there's a few others i been noticing do the same crap and hit..and it seems they are in the money and at the final tables alot:mad:

am i just frustrated because i play for 3 plus hrs for just double my buy in and they are so very lucky or do they get some insight because they shill for the site?

what is your take about players (shills) that play for the site?????
do they exist????????

Yes there are people who play for the site. They're called pros, and the sites sponsor these players to play on their site. You obviously don't understand the way the RNG works. Even an insider on any poker site can't know what's coming in the future. Even the absolute scandal the guy couldn't predict what was to come on the board, just other hole cards.

I guess you could say I have been a shill for a site. When I could still play william hill, you could get paid an hourly amount for starting a new table. I did that a time or two, the pay about made up for the variance of playing two, three, four player tables. I surely had no insight to cards or other benefit, but any extra EV is good.

shills

well i work at a casino and they sometimes use shills to start a game or keep 1 going but that doesnt mean they cheat cause the shill cant predict whats coming up.........i think it would be the same online if they did have shills it would be to help start a game or to keep 1 going but theres now way they could see the future with a random number generator.......

Actually they are called props, not pros, close but no cigar! People playing with the casinos money and they are present on many sites. Apparently about 4000 hands a week is the standard requirement for prop work.

bad player

the more i play online poker the worst i seem to get.ive read many post here and have tried many differnt approachs to the ONLINE GAME,but it seems to come out the same.outside from online i do very very well playing poker live.i didnt have many losing nites at the casinothis year.im gonna start keeping up with my percentages comparing live to online.i know some will say you play more hands online and i realize that but i think i play much better players live.i played the other day online lost my 50 bucks before my wife got ready to leave for the casino.got to the casino started off with 100 bucks walked away 3 1/2 hours later with a profit of 435.00 bucks.i guess i just suck online or i havnet gotten the hang of it.my reason or reasons my game is so bad online is,live play there maybe 2 to 3 players at the table ,thats not that good just learning or playing to fill the casino time.online ive seen a totally diffearnt kinda player.i play mostly low stakes sngs muilty.out of 90,45,18 players at the table id say 75 % have not a clue how to play but some how manage to take my money most the time.most here would disagree with me on this but i dont care its what ive seen and still see, that the same rules to online play doesnt apply to live play.i would love to find a group guys that play online and start up a regular playing nite with players that i can learn from instead of the steady all in every hand game,or give up online play all together. just my thoughts experience.

I wasn't talking about those people. You can watch Phil Ivey at Full Tilt, Daniel Negreanu at pokerstars or a number of other PROS playing at sites. They have a contract with the site and get paid to play at their site. You are talking about something different. Please don't correct me when you don't know what I'm talking about.

And I play in excess of 4k hands per week, where can I get my money? ;)

IMO the reason players play different online is because they don't actually have to look the player in the eye. If you make a dumb move in a live game and somehow come out the winner you will get an earful from that person. Online, what is there? You can try and vent your anger in the cahtbox and you'll recieve a "hahahaahaha...I still have your money...ROFL LOLZ". Idiots like that would have there faces broken outside casinos. It takes balls to step inside one and play well, you're an idiot if you step inside one and don't have a clue what you are at.

There are two different jobs being discussed here and it's important to understand the difference as well. They are not interchangeable words and one is actually more ethical than the other.

A Prop player gets paid an hourly wage (at least in real life whereas online props can be paid in other ways as well) to generally either sit in short handed games to fill them out or start new games/tables. However the key is that they play with their own money, take on all the bankroll risk, and get little say in what flavor of game/stakes they play.

A Shill is someone that works for the casino/cardroom that gets paid an hourly wage AND play with the house's money. They suffer no bankroll/financial risk. Also, shills sometimes have predetermined "script plays" to follow like not calling a raise with a straight draw, etc. And being a shill is not like being staked because your pay as a shill is predetermined whereas a staked player's pay is based on performance.

scruffy, I'm afraid I believe that there is too much money to be made in order for simple chance to be controlling things. I, of course, have only circumstantial evidence, like almost everyone else. I cannot prove it, but there are so many hands where people have no reason to call or go allin unless they know they will win. In anything in everyday life, where there is a will to cheat, there is a way. I believe sites have people playing who know they will win. Why? Simply because there is so much money to be made that way. That's the way it is in every other area of life. So, why not here? They also know we would be laughed at because we can't prove it. So, why would I still play if I believe this. Because even after the terribly unfair bad beats I have suffered, I still make many thousands. That's the only reason. I have learned to avoid certain players who "always win". I know I play better than them, but they "always win".

That's simply what I believe. Sorry, no proof. But I have a right to believe it.
