Do You hope to get rich from poker?

A few days ago was a tournament i dont remember at this point the name. however the 1st place was winining by a 22 years old guy and the first prize was 9 mil dolars. So the question is what You will do with that kind of money? Do You stop playing poker or go to play bigger amount of money? Hmmm

In principle I aspire to play better, then to get some extra dollars and, someday, to live from poker. Being a millionaire in my case is just a dream (I would like to win some great tournament but it doesn't motivate me to be rich). Of course I would like to have a good time, without deprivation.

That's pretty amazing that a twenty-two year old guy won a cool nine million dollars, tell you one thing, I'm extremely glad not to have won that money at that age myself- I wouldn't be here to type this now. :laugh:

Most certainly I'd keep playing, it's the entire point! Raise enough capital for 'the plan'...

Nine million would be a great start, but it's not enough to get the snowball started... Close though!

If I'd win 9.000.000$ at a poker tournament, that would be it for me. I wouldn't play poker for money anymore (because if I was to win such a major tournament means I'm really going for it, investing a lot of money in poker) and only play for fun small amounts of money.

The truth is not because I still have a lot to consider myself a great player but I like to make new friends and have fun healthily

What I will do with that kind of money is buy my mom a nice house in a good area, furniture, go on vacations. I will still keep on playing but the same amount of when I was on the normal side. Perhaps invest it.

Personally I don't have any plans of making some extravagant win to conceal the rest of my days in the high life. I enjoy the game and respect the risk involved with poker. Of course it would be nice to win a nice tournament with cashed being displayed across the table but many of us will never get there. I have had some friends who have done this but it was a full-time job. Not to say that it is a bad thing, just a lot of stress especially dealing with the beats taken in the money.
