Dakota I beg to differ.
Degrading is bad - but lightly pushing towards tilt is good. Maybe frowned upon but when it works - man it works. As long as you are mentally stable
enough to take some abuse and play your normal game it can be very profitable.
I just got in a bit of poker around midday. I planned to watch some 25c50c to learn but found at my stakes a table had a seat open with a large average
pot size.
I assume I missed some action but after a few hands the two main culprits and me are in the pot. its raised to 70c and called - now 3 way.
Flop Jh2s4s (or something very similar) 2 of one suit I know that.
Hero bets 50c with pocket eights. to see where I am
Player 1 raise to $2.2
Player 2 all in
Hero fold
Player 1 had J9 and takes the pot ($30ish)
Player 2 had 6s7s
The next few hands player 2 is raising every pot about 70c in an instant.
I realised he was close to the edge so I said something like
"Well thats what you get for playing silly billys and going all in on a 7high draw"
Then he loses it. Starts calling me fish this fish that and then the raises up $1.30 here $2.90 there pre flop.
I chuck in a few more innocent comments: "Snakes and ladder is a cheaper game" or "Are you Phil Ivey?"
He got me for a $15 pot at one point. but about an hour later he had $6 - probably the remainder of his
bankroll (after buying in a few times more) and
I had $89.
See screen shot I took - I was very proud to have got to $89 when max buy in was $20.
