Bad Start to the week with positive ending!!
I took a beating this week and have lost my profit once again, and am now sitting at $920.64. Literally every pocket pair of JJ-KK went up against AA when recieved them. I am not as angry as the first time i lost my profit as that time it was my fault. (This my friends is called VARIANCE) and why so many poker players cannot be successful. I just look at it as its GONE and have to start from square one again, otherwise i will lose my whole roll trying to chase money that is no longer my own.
I normally do not play sit-n-go's but i entered a small $6.00+$0.50 6 person turbo tournament where 1st recieved a $24.00+$2.00 tournament entry token and 2nd $10.00. I played really well in this tournament and won the 1st place prize. I have not redeemed it and am planning on saving it for a rainy day.
Well as you may know this is my week to take a trip up to Foxwoods. I arrived there at around 8:30a.m sat down with $300.00 and by 10:00 i was crippled and sitting with $80.00. Talk about a start huh? The crippling hand was when i had QJsuited of diamonds and raised it to $12.00 from the button and big blind smooth called.
FLOP came AJQ rainbow----long story short after bets and raises and calls, big blind had aces up (AJ). Despite the horrible start, I kept my composure and did not go on tilt as it was tough to put him on that hand, and tought to let two pair go, especially heads up.
After that happened, my favorite seat on the table opened up. So i decided to switch seats and boy was it successful. After slowly building my stack up to $150.00 i look down at KK under the gun. I make it $20.00 to go and have 3 callers. I flopped top set and bet out $50.00 when i get reraised all in, and obviously i called. Guy had AA and my set of kings held up to double me up back to my $300.00 buyin.
From there on out i hit 3 more sets--10's vs. flush draw and i boated, 8's vs. flush draw and i boated, and a monster set of 9's vs. AK with flop K94 rainbow and i boated when the turn was another king, Thankfully the ace didn't pop on the river. I also flopped a nut flush vs. a flopped Q high flush which was a healthy pot as well.
To wrap up the 6.5 hour session I cashed out with $980.00 for a profit of $680.00 in 6.5 hours.
Even though i was discouraged from losing the $220.00 in 1.5 hours i stuck with it and grinded it out and most importantly stayed on top of my game by not changing my style.
So all in all ended up with my
bankroll online at $920.64 but pocketed a profit of $680.00 in live play. So hopefully this coming week will have positive progress to report as i am feeling very confident and feel like i have a little momentum on my side. Thanks for reading and Good Luck!!
