What gives you more money plus by playing in CASH or playing in Tournaments?

I play in tournaments, but I began to notice that I am very exhausted on them and do not spend much money on them . Here I think maybe I should go to the cache ? Share your vision ?:deal:

In short term, playing properly, the cash games looks better to me, in long term, tournaments.

Cash, but more emotional draining when on a downturn and requires better tilt control. In a tournament you only lose the buy-in.

I only play in tournaments, because here you can win, although not immediately, and if you play for money, you can lose everything in one hand.

Of course the cache.
1) Accessibility - play whenever you want.
2) Select - the ability to choose opponents.
3) Unlike cash, MTT tournaments are a highly dispersed format of the game. This means that you may not be lucky for a long time, you may be standing in one place for a long time.

Tournament's if the buy-in is a decent amount, and you are a skilled tournament player. And as someone else on here also mentioned a lot of time. Cash games also, but, only if you are running well for a period of time that would equal what you would have made in a few tournaments. It is a delicate balance.

For me, cash games are boring, so I often lose in them. It is more pleasant to play tournaments.

Cash or Tournament Game?

Well i use to play only tournament game for 3 year in the past and i was a loosing player but now i shifted almost completely to cash game and plays few tournament in a week using the profits i make from the cash games. If you ask me why here is my analysis please read it very carefully.

If you playing only tournament and you have limit bankroll with no back up money , chances are you will go broke quite often even if you are a winning player. People will say you should play tournament because the pay out is huge. Here is my question how often do you get into the final table in a week, month or a year? Trust me it won't be much even for the pros. You will easily get frustrated when you lost money for days playing tournament and sometime you will ask yourself, am i good enough or is the game too hard for me that kind of mentality will surely effect your decision making and game play. Sometimes you will run so good for days and will feel like you are a genius. All this happen because variance in online poker tournament is too high.

And finally after 3 years of loosing money i make a decision that makes me a winning player and withdraw a sizeable amount of money every month i.e i started playing mostly cash game and i invested 30% of whatever profit i earn from cash game to play tournament, i mean i only play tournament with the profit i make from the cash game and remember it is absolutely necessary to play tournament to build up your bankroll because from cash game you will earn steady income but from tournament you will sometimes win big . Now suddenly all the pressure are completely gone, my game play had improved and i started making money. It works for me and you too can do it .

Read up on BRM (Bankroll Management).
It is commonly known that a player should have a bankroll consisting of 200 buyins for MTT's. (I think 100 is enough for micro stakes, as long as the tournaments you are playing are not just the ones with very large number of entrants). Cash game, 20 to 30 buyins is sufficient.

I have to say that I struggle to be profitable in tournaments, but I do pretty well with cash games. I think it has to do with how a lot of tournament players play cash games, and don't really know how to adjust. I like how Harrington makes a comparison between deep stack cash games and venture capitalism...I like the format where it is more of a game of patience, but at the same time anything can happen on any given hand.

The ideal circumstance in cash game is having a really big hand, and matching up another really big hand that isn't quite as good as yours. I feel like tournament is more focused on getting value out of your hands when you can.

I think income does not depend on the chosen discipline, but on skill. The only thing is that if it is limited in time, then it is better to choose a cache and devote time to learning in it

For Me:CASH - Technically:TOURNAMENTS

...I've debated this with myself and other's many times...

...What I've found to be true for me is that...

...I have to find, realize, and "hone in" on what games I'm good at! (not the ones I want to beat my friends at, but the ones I win at naturally). Talking about online play here, for me currently, mainly PLO cash games (PLO has more action bc of more variance), NLH cg's, and Blitz or Zone Poker.

(BLITZ Poker is great because you can hop in and out as much as you want, collecting profit, without having to wait thirty minutes or violating a"rat-hole" policy if attempting to sit back at the same table with less than what you left with.)...

IF YOU want to get TECHNICAL, then i suppose you could say that technically Tournaments are more profitable in general... Most people in cash games will 'cashout' at a point of double-up or triple-up. However, in a tournament...1st place might get 100+ times their buyin... which is a way higher profit.... which is typically way more than the average player or any player stands to earn in a cash game.

(I believe)
...To make the money, or top 3, in more than 30% of the tournaments you play, is considered "good" or "average" for most professional poker players...

TIME WISE...for me...CASH GAMES ALL DAY... with an occasional tournament or two with "good value" (i've been trying to improve on my 2-day tourneys)....

...The beauty with cash games online, is that you can cash out whenever you want and hop on another table (at another stake even)WAAAY FASTER THAN YOU COULD OR WOULD IN A LIVE CASINO, making your "Rounds" so to speak...... switching between tables in a matter of seconds...Doing this properly while following a risk model for bankroll management, then, i believe, and in my experience, cash games become more profitable.

...Where as when you're playing LIVE at a friends house, or house game... you have to call thirty minutes... or an hour... before you leave(If you want to leave when you're "UP"). So, the other players get a shot at winning their money back...

GOOD LUCK!:)

Poker tournaments are easier to understand for a novice, but they take a significant time commitment and your wins will be variable.
Cash games, on the other hand, place fewer demands on your time and provide more steady winnings.
It is ultimately your decision whether to play in tournaments or cash games. For me personal, nothing compares to the thrill of making it deep into a huge field event. That exhilaration is something you won't find in a cash game. :D

I would suggest the complete opposite of this ^
Tournaments can be more brutal on the emotions because of the time investment. You can be playing GREAT, going on a deep run in a number of MTT's and then WHAM you can get donked badly in a short period of time. What was a few deep runs can quickly become a few min-cashes.
In cash game I welcome players getting it in bad and doubling through me (or getting coolered) as you immediately reload to max. buyin and continue on. Unless you allow that to negatively influence how you proceed to play, it has really little to no effect.

It is actually closer to 12%-to-14% for professional players, a tad higher for micro stakes regs. It's possible to also see some micro stakes players with a higher ITM % but typically the type of player going for 'min-cashes' (basically the Allen Kessler type)

I for one LOVE MTT's. The problem is my bankroll does not. I can barely handle the variance of cash games let alone MTT's. For the time being I may enter a hanful of free rolls a week but I practically never cash in them. Although yesterday I did make $0.30 off the cardschat one I believe. hahah #feelsgoodman
