When I first started playing poker, abiut 90% of my time was spent playing cash. That was because I didn't have the patience for tournaments at that point in time. The only tournaments I would play were hypers and a turbo here and there.
Ever since I've become more accustomed to playing poker and don't have the patience issue anymore, I play tournaments probably 95% of the time, maybe more. The only time I'll play cash tables now is if I've only got a maximum of 1 hour of poker playing before heading out to do something. Or if I'm trying to complete certain challenges on
pokerstars.
The appeal of tournaments is that you get to work on so many different parts of your game plus for a very small buyin you can win huge prizes, so that's always an attractive possible outcome.
I definitely want to start playing more cash throughout this year though to sharpen up certain skills and simply have the cash table skills ready for when I may need them. At the moment, I'm planning on spending 1 day a month only playing cash tables but, dependant on results and how I'm feeling during those days, I may end up increasing that to numerous days per month
