I would like to know your opinions on which one you prefer, which is more profitable and the advantages or disadvantages of both.
Thank you!!

I almost don't play cash games. In general, in most cases I prefer Sit & Go tournaments or MTT tournaments. Both of these options allow me to steadily increase my bankroll.

I don't have to choose at the moment, I have been playing for a long time and mainly in tournaments. Therefore, my choice is obvious. In order to play cash, I will have to re-learn and gain experience in these games. and I also play a lot of Spin & Go's, I need them to get my head-to-head and final table skills.

HELLO
The strategy in these disciplines is different for me, so I play one day one thing, or a cash game or a tournament.
Best regards, Sergei

I prefer tournaments, but everyone has to play where they feel best and where they have results. I tried cash games and came out at a loss, as well as the slots.

Hi.
For the last two years, I have only been playing in tournaments. Cash games bring me losses. In general, I think that cash games are more difficult than tournaments.
Good luck.

I started playing tournaments because I enjoy competing against others, and very seldom do I play cash games (and none at all since due to Covid-19 I moved online).

I play both as a recreational , I think if you want to be a tough opponent in general it would be a good idea to play both.
Without a doubt more skill is involved in cash games because you always go post flop , MTTs is a game of dynamics and many all ins - everyone can go all in , right?

Cash games will also help you in how to approach the early stages of the tournaments because the stacks are deep like CG.

Also SNG are a tremendous practice for ICM spots.

It seems to me that each game type/format has a different set of requirements to be the best. Seems to me that the tourney path is somewhat softer, though there are more hurdles to jump.

Tourney's also offer a more controllable set of losses. But if you're hot shit on the felt, you can earn a regular hourly income from playing cash tables. Whilst I play cash games occasionally (e.g. to obtain a 'throwable"), the swings can be great and the field aggressive.

At the end of the day, I have two "moods" for playing. One mood is laser-beam focussed with the view of finishing people off as viciously and quickly as possible (so turbo and hyper-turbo games are preferable), whereas there are other times where I just want to "play poker". In such instances, I prefer the slower pace of a regular speed tourney (e.g. with 10m blinds).

The phrase "you cannot win a tourney in the first half hour" applies here. Patience. Discipline. Aggression.

But if you are looking to replace your salary with income rom poker, I think you've got a better opportunity (at least in the early days) of doing that from cash games.

Cheers,
ObbleeXY

I always play tournaments, cash is not my thing at all, I like competition when everyone is in the same conditions.

Good Night

I see that playing cash games is very risky to lose. I prefer long-running tournaments ranging from $ 0.55 to $ 2.20.;)

I always play cash games when I am playing live, but I enjoy the tournaments online. I definitely win more playing the cash games but I think it is because of the length of time you 'have' to play and keeping my patience during a long tournament.

I mostly play MTTs, sometimes spin & go because I don't have much time. Both of these types allow you to increase capital, mainly MTT.

profitable is what you enjoy most and where you are best, so don't focus too much on numbers just on your skills

That is very interesting. Thank you for giving me something to think about. :)

I prefer to play in tournaments. I can't make money at the cash tables. Every player has a different level of play. Can play well at some tables but poorly at others.

Cash games can bring quick wins or loses. Tournaments can allow for more play with less initial risk, high upside, but relatively low chances of realizing that upside. SNGs are a decent balance.

I only prefer tournaments. Cash is not mine at all, there is no competitive spirit in poker that I love so much.

I prefer MTT tournaments, where you can immediately increase your bankroll a lot.
