Had to post this: http://events.startcast.com/events/23/B0011/code/media/media.asp?format=win&bitrate=250_v&part=282

Too bad my picks on that sportsnet pool are all leafs, but none on the steen line, eh LoDog? :/

oh yeah, and WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CANADA :D

Yes amazing game.. Imagine if we get all that scoring and point production from our third and fourth lines for the rest of the season.... That + healthy poni/wellwood/antropov/tucker/peca... ( Did i miss any ? )

Great game for Steen's / Stajan's confidence

Well after the leafs have another dismal game vs carolina, we're back on the winning side after beating just about the best team in the league, Buffalo!
http://events.startcast.com/events/23/B0011/code/media/media.asp?format=win&bitrate=250_v&part=294

WEEEEEEEE

I should have posted here before.. but I was offered 4.15:1 on my money.. and I KNEW that leafs were not a 4:1 dog.. Sure we have a lot of injuries, BUT Buffalo has never creamed our clocks, and we beat them 4 to 1 without mats sundin...AND Buffalo had just played the night before... So me being the gambling freak I am, put 20 euro's on Toronto... They won and I came out $115 (ish) Canadian richer :D

I Also bet 20 euro's on Montreal vs Phillie as much as I hate to admit.. But they offered 2:1 (Who the hell comes up with these odds ) And it was my sure win, incase Toronto lost, I would get my money back.... And they won 4 to 2 as well.

Oh and my brother drove down to Buffalo to watch the game

Who would give you 2:1 on your money in the Montreal/Philly game???? Philly is the worst team in the league lol.

Either way The Habs are still 9 points ahead of the leafs :D

Hey everyone! Still got no snow here, one day we had a light dusting. I can't believe it, the middle of Jan. and nothing, I wonder if our winter will drag into April and May, wouldn't that be weird. How are the Oilers holding up say compared to the Leafs and Habs?

Thats what I thought... but it's from some european betting company.. Perhaps they don't know anything about the NHL =D

Also thought the 4.15:1 on the leafs was way too much lol.

@alevera, they are even in points... Except Toronto has two games up on them..

Hi rufcut welcome back, we've been talking about bodog know for quite sometime in lots of other threads, but I was yet to find out why Canadians were not allowed, thanx for the info. But it still doesn't seem right to me. I wonder if other sites have to follow the same policy.

Is there an entrepreneurial Canadian out there wanting to make some money?

Is there a brave Canadian out there willing to stand up to the US government and face extradition and felony charges?

It seems to me that there literally millions of US poker players, such as myself, who are rapidly running out of avenues to fund their poker accounts.

If I were to send a check for...oh say $110.00 to this Canadian with the understanding that once the check had cleared he would deposit $100.00 into his poker account and transfer it to mine...he would make a quick $10.00.

Yeah, that's not much..but like that movie Indecent Proposal where Woody's wife was paid $1,000,000.00 to sleep with Robert Redford. Now my wife is no Demi Moore...but $50.00.. 20,000 times....get the point.

I don't know that that would ever be traceable...what a money making opportunity!!

Hell....I may move to Canada myself....except I know nothing about hockey eh.

Hi troderick, I understand where your coming from but in all reality you would say for eg. play at P Stars and you are registerd to your American address and I am a Canadian cashing your funds(not the check is the issue)I put the money into your account, you could do this maybe 2 times and a red flag would go up. both you and the Canadian would get banned, thats why they verify before actually sending the transfer.
Sites are pretty smart to the wicked ways of the world.

Why would they be interested in banning either? The US law affects folks living in the US and banking institutions that help those folks fund their accounts. It seems to me that the actual poker sites are out of US jurisdiction and could not be prosecuted even if the US wanted.

The US government would have no right to monitor the financial activities of a poker site out of their jurisdiction, so they would not be aware of the person to person transfer. Nor would they have any right to monitor the banking activities of the Canadian.

As for my banking activities...as far as my bank is concerned, I am sending a personal check to a Canadian friend.

I guess in theory the poker site is breaking US law and the owners would be subject to arrest if the were in the US...but how would the US know who was playing?

Maybe I am naive, but I see no way this could be tracked.

Well troderick, in closer examination of it all, you maybe right. Although if it is that easy for all the americans out there, then you guys shouldn't have a problem getting money deposited to your accounts(except the ones that your banned from). The only challenge then would be to find a fellow friend in another country. (I wonder how long it takes for an American personal cheque to clear here in Canada). I just recently received a Business cheque from another Country for my winnings and it took 30 days to clear before I could get the money. You might want to consider a bank transfer for faster play. And no I don't know if there are any such rules, but you bring up a good point.

Hello Larry Chascewski,

Due to recent events, we are unable to offer NETeller, Instant eChecks
or Central Coin to our players from the United States at this time.
To read some Frequently Asked Questions about the NETeller situation
regarding US players, please see our webpage:

http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/real-money/usplayerfaq/

We are working on providing various other deposit and withdrawal
methods to our customers, but it may be some time before any other
methods become available.

At this time, US customers can deposit using Western Union, Bank
Draft/Money Order/Cashier Cheque, or ePassporte. For more information
regarding Western Union or Bank Draft deposits please write to
Support@PokerStars.com.

We recommend ePassporte as the fastest way to add funds to your PokerStars
account. The
ePassporte Virtual Visa is a pre-paid, re-loadable Visa that can be
used online anywhere Visa is accepted.

For more information on ePassporte, please visit our web page:

http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/real-money/epassporte/

To initiate a deposit (and create an ePassporte account), please visit
the Cashier window and click on the ePassporte icon.

Once you have made a successful ePassporte deposit, you will also be
able to cashout using that method.

At this time, the only other regular cashout method available to US
customers is by check. The minimum cashout by check is currently
$50. All checks over $1000 are sent by courier; smaller checks are
sent by regular mail, but can be sent by courier if you pay a $25 fee.

If you are trying to casout and being informed that your cashout will be
sent to Neteller or eCheck, rather than by cheque, please write to
security@pokerstars.com, who will be able to block that cashout method for
you.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of this situation. We
always strive to provide our customers with the best possible service,
but these limitations are not something we can control. We will do
our best to provide other options in the future. When there is news
to report, it will be posted on our website and in our News bulletins.

As always, we thank you for your understanding, and thank you for
playing on PokerStars.

Regards,

Joanne
PokerStars Support Team

I believe western union will always be available due to the fact that everytime you make a deposit there is no mention of a poker site in its destination or receiver, and the name of the receiver always changes.
Almost untouchable by the powers that be in the government, think about it. Its not like they can stop western union from sending money out of the country.
I hope the following helps strengthen my point:

Hello Orion469,

IMPORTANT: Please note that we cannot accept Western Union deposits sent using credit or debit cards. Deposits sent using credit or debit cards through Western Union will be rejected and the funds will be returned to you by Western Union which can take up to 30 days.

For improved service to our customers, we now have two WU
operators for processing Western Union transactions. Each operator is in
a different location - Costa Rica or Peru. Before sending your money,
please make sure that it is being sent to the correct location.

You can send money via Western Union to us in the amount of $50.00 up
to $1,990.00. Here is the information you'll need to send your payment
to us:

Transfer to:
City: San Jose
Country: Costa Rica

For Costa Rica transfers, please note that some Costarican names have a
first name and two last names. There are no middle names.

NOTE: You must request a new name each time you make a Western Union transfer. The name given above is valid for one use only.

Make sure that the receiver's name is spelled exactly as shown above, as we will not be able to confirm the transaction otherwise.

Please also include the sender's full name with your Western Union transfer.

To send money via Western Union, you must visit a Western Union agent. Money transfer services at agent locations are available in over 190 countries worldwide. You can only use cash to send Western Union transfers.

Once you have sent the transfer, please return to the pokerstars Cashier screen to enter your MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number), and other information requested.

You may send money via Western Union at any time; however payments will only be processed between 8:30 AM and 10:30 PM ET, Monday through Sunday.

Upon receipt of your Western Union transfer information and verification of your transaction, you will be notified by email and the funds will be deposited into your PokerStars account.

Note that cash transfers will be processed in the order received, and should be verified within approximately 60 minutes (during the hours above).

Well, Canadian I am not but I am a hockey fan in the midwest. Actually i'm a Blues fan so I really couldn't have been considered a hockey fan until the last three weeks or so, since I don't think that's what they were playing to start the season  .

Hey all you Edmonton folks, do you guys just despise Pronger or what? I wish I could have been up there when he came back for his first game earlier this year. Anyone of you ever hear what his personal reason for leaving was? The rumor here in St. Louis is that his wife didn't like it there and forced ol Chris to demand a trade.

Thats the story here. Was some rumour of an affair but it was just that a rumor. Wifey couldn't find enought parties here so bye bye Pronger, the big doofus. Think St. Louis would part with Guerin at the trade deadline, we could use him and Brewer back here.

Who's gettin excited for the all star game? :D

Hopefully the game is good tonight. Going to record a SnG when I get home, then people can hear what a man's voice is supposed to sound like, right Chris. :p

Rumour was he got a local girl pregnant. The game he came back for there was a non-profit women's group selling t-shirts that said "I'm having Chris's baby" LMAO

:p

I think it's really going to come down to where the Blues sit just before the deadline. If management feels a playoff spot is attainable (IMO, there out of their mind even though the blues have been playing great hockey as of late) then they will be trying to get stronger. If they don't they are going to be major sellers.

There are a lot of free agents to be on the Blues right now. Guerin, Brewer, Jackman, Mayers, and a few others. The rumor is that they are already trying to work out an extension for Guerin. They would be out of their minds to let Jackman walk also. I do believe that Brewer will be gone.

That was the stupidest trade the Blues have ever made. Brewer gets harassed pretty good here and it's not really his fault. He's a good player who has some mental lapses at times but people are just pizzed that the team didn't get more for Pronger.

That's freakin hilarious. I think it would have been even funnier to see a guy or two in the stands wearing one  .
