Which is better cash or tournaments ?

Tournaments you can make more money, but it takes more time. Cash games you can only win what you have to bet. To me is tournaments but i know people who only play cash and profits a lot.

I like them both. Tournaments offer better payouts for the amount invested but you need to make the time to make the profit. Cash games are great because you can stand up and go at any time increasing your profits a little at a time.

This must be the most frequently asked question on this forum. I think they are two very different modalities and in truth we all like to play cash but the truth is that I am more of a tournament player.

Both got their pros and cons. I would say tournaments are definitely more profitable on a long run, but cash games are basically quick money - it depends on players skill if quick lossing money or winning quick money but yea I always go for cash games for a quick profit - tournament for large profits which are on a long session.

Coming from a small community I used to play 2 tournaments weekly. Sunday was a 10 dollar unlimited rebuy for the first hour ( we would average 2 full tables sometimes 3). 1st place was on average $325 - $400 , Monday was a freezeout $30 + 5 admission fee average 2 tables , 200 for first place some nights . I made my money back and then some with these tournaments then i have with cash , Cash best haul after 5 hours was $325 to the positive at 1/2$ .. Cash games you can go broke a lot quicker and gain short term . Tournaments you have a better chance of managing what you invest. Maybe this was more of a rant then insight . see you at the tables

Money is more profitable, but the risk of losing is greater. I prefer tournaments, and depending on some they may even be more profitable.

In my opinion tournaments is little better. If i play the tournament i pay buy-in only once or two times and i can see the possible prizes.

tournament is very hard to win. you need a lot of luck and skill. but if you win a price is massive but also bankrol managment need to be a higher.

at cash games is easier to win, you playnig with the same players ands blinds are same. the key is to play with weakers then you and exploit they weakness

it depends on your funds and the time you have to sit down and play if you are going to play for a couple of hours just play open so you can go whenever you want but if you have a few hours to play it would be a tournament for sure you gain more experience in tournaments controlling more your tabs

Cache is better for me. You can start playing at any time and you can also end the game yourself at any time. Also, people play cash more adequately than in tournaments because the blinds don't grow.

I strongly believe that tournaments are more profitable, because the likelihood of collusion in tournaments is much lower.

i like cash games more

blinds dont eat you up . in a tournament when you are carddead your stack will still melt more and more since the blinds go up . you dont have that in cash games

you get money instantly when you win a hand and dont have to make it post bubble first lol

When I have to decide whether to play mtt starting with 100bbs or go to cash tables with 1 or 2 buyins I choose mtt, cash in every other case.
