I've been sober for 3 years now and want to get back into the games....... the casino was a guaranteed drinking platform for me........ just wondering if anyone has prevailed at sobering up and re entering the lions den of the unnerving poker rooms.....:captain:

I rarely drink alcohol. Only 3-4 times a year. But, I never play poker if I am drunk. I do not see the logic in that.

Made a decision early on not to drink and play regardless of the circumstances. I did play a lot of poker and have had my share of beer, just not together. Don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. Still enjoying both to this day.

I dont play as well if I'm drinking alcohol so I cant really say. In the end it's all about will power.... if your will power isnt strong maybe just play online.

I've been sober for 31 years. Being around alcohol doesn't bother me anymore.. I think subconsciously I know where that road leads to and I don't want to go there again. Just try and remember what your life was like before you got sober. Maybe use your 3 year chip as a card protector to remind yourself what you have accomplished... . Good luck to you.
