If it's a cash NLHE game, they got it AI PF and decided to run it twice.

My guess it is a cash game and they ran it twice.

In a cash game in an all in situation the two players could agree to run it more than once to reduce variance.

When they run it twice, they have the chance to each win one runout, or someone could win both.

I get it. You take the best of both runs or just take one ???
Both runs count. Negreanu wins the whole pot. If Esfandiari had won one run, they would have split the pot, if they had run it three times and someone had won two out of three, they get two thirds of the pot, etc, etc.

Does that mean that Esfandiari has to pay double?

The pot is split in half and each run is separate.

So in the above 108K was the total pot.

First run would be the Q 10 K 2 6 the winner of that pot will get 54K.

Second run would be the 5 9 4 5 Q the winner of that pot will get 54K.

You can run it twice not only preflop but on flop and turn as well. You can also run it more than twice too. pokerstars has this feature on cash games not sure about other sites.

Best way to explain sometimes is by example take a look at this video it is funny as hell but should illustrate it.

Very interesting! I have never seen this (maybe because I don't play cash). Thanks for posting it!

When you have 2 hands good hands against eachother in a even stacked all in pot. the players typically "Run it twice" figuring they were both within range to make the right play to get it in. if 1 player wins both they get 100% of the pot. if 1 wins 1 and the other wins they other, they split the pot.
