focus

I don't think that alcohol will help you to play well on poker match. Focus will be a problem cause we all know that alcohol has an after effect. Might as well don't drink so you can pay attention on the game.

Same here!I never drink while playing.Although I have seen this player drinking constantly like 8+ beers and running like a pro.Even drunks can run like a god 2.
So I guess timing may help someone drinking and playing abnormal poker, if they have made hands.
So a drunk guy at the table can be a difficult spot depending on timing.

Poker and alcohol are a bad combination for long tournaments or games that require concentration. I just drink and play when I'm playing at home or tables with low values to avoid losses .

Me personally, alcohol only prevents too much confidence and error in my actions

Drunk is my biggest loser in cash games$250

In my opinion, if you drink a little and is normal conscious, will not be affected, now if you drink too much it is logical that affect you, because you lose control of yourself.

I'm not a fan of alcohol except for some wine with dinner. Regardless I don't enjoy dulling my senses for a game that requires concentration and observation. Some people may find it usefull, I guess, if their nature is to be frantic and random, but I'm still not a fan of using substances that could be addictive, and thinking it could give you an edge is just supporting that compulsion. Not trying to be a know it all, but I've seen too much in my lifetime

For me, I quit drinking. It reduced my overall stamina and if I was going to have a beer, it's always the largest glass... Value ofc. Having more stamina increases my play time and a lot of other great features that would be slightly obscured from alcohol.
I support Vaping and/or Green cards as it can improve your game imo(on/off topic).

I used to smoke pot, take Xanax and drink redbull and vodkas while playing poker and have had much success while doing so. Sometimes a little liquid balls is good. I since then have chosen a sober life as I find alcohol to be a more dangerous element when blackjack craps and sports are involved, for me personally. Good luck!

Well, couple of beers doesn't do much damage for me.. Or maybe I just think that lol But yea, if you start to make risky decisions, you should drink some water instead. ;)

Oddly enough, one or two beers helps me live. It helps calm my nerves a little cause I primarily play online. When I play live I get a little intimidated in casinos and a beer helps me out. A little liquid confidence.

when i play live tourneys, i like to have 1 to take the edge off. i get nervous and I find a drink can put me in the zone. I have on occasion had too much and had to frequent the restroom durin a tourney. there are definately down sides to drinking TOO much But my rule is have like 1 or so, its more fun when your more relaxed.

drinking can cause wrong judgement, which can be really bad because one bad decision can lead to getting cleaned and start from the square one. people should always be on there guard while playing poker and try to not drink and play, cause it can induce bad gameplay and cost a lot.
