So you are in a tournament sat in an early position and dealt AK off suit so you raise 3BB everyone folds apart from a mid position who puts you all in what do you do. Knowing that 63% of the time your AK off wins heads up so your getting just over a double up is it a no brainer to call or is it a no brainer to fold.

I think I know the answer. This is why you gather information about whether a player is TAG or LAG if they have been playing far too many hands you know they are loose so you call cause you probably have them beat if they haven't played many hands them you fold because they probably have you beat.

This depends on how deep the effective stack is—in general the deeper the stack, the bigger the edge you want in order to get it all in. The reverse of that also applies, so if for example this is a hyper turbo tournament where we all start off very short with 10 big blinds, then we are very happy to get it in. :)

Hi
Its simple logic.
Due to table position, you shove all in or fold to all in after you raise.

I folded AK after 3 betting to get all in call.

Its not a pair.
So why risk it.

If you had shoved all in, that would have been another situation.

You write that is a satellite tournament. It all depends on your placement and how far from the bubble you are. In some cases you fold AA in a satellite. If it's in the beginning I would mostly fold. You often push in satellites but if you don't need to you seldom call for your tournament life, if you don't need to (starting to be low on chips).

Didn't Dara O'Kearney have a tread about satellites in this forum? He's a sat specialist and wrote a whole book about them. In general you are tighter in sats than normal tournaments.

It is all about the bubble no extra money for first place.

Ok so if your close to the bubble you may fold AK but if your close and your stack may not make it you are going to call. Also I would be looking who o am playing against if it's swine who's stolen the blinds alot in the previous dozen hands I would be calling him too. After all how many chances do you get to more than double up. If your playing premium hands your playing what 1 in 20 hands if your lucky. The other thing is 1c/2c cash games $2 stack if you play all in 100 times on AK overall you should win 63 of them hands heads up so you double up 63 times that's $252 you have got back to the $200 you've paid out so a +$52 . That's what the maths are saying anyway so if you play pairs 7s and up and AQ os to AK suited you should over a million games make an healthy profit. Whether this works in real life well that's another matter.

Play like the other hands

AK is a very good hand nothing more, play the same way you play the other hands, if you play aggressively with AK keep playing aggressively everything will depend on the same post flop

Depends where are you playing. Generally, I would go all in with AK, many times, but most of the times I would be very carefull.
