Well, it was in a freeroll but still a very bad beat. One card left in the deck that could give this guy the win. I was just glad that I had a bigger stack than both all in players.

full tilt poker, NL Hold'em Tournament, 100/200 Blinds, 9 Players
BB: 1,322
UTG: 9,380
UTG+1: 4,340
UTG+2: 14,380
MP1: 3,675
Hero (MP2): 15,700
CO: 1,460
BTN: 1,375
SB: 5,450
Pre-Flop: (300) K:diamond: K:heart: dealt to Hero (MP2)
3 folds, MP1 calls 200, Hero raises to 600, 2 folds, SB calls 500, BB folds, MP1 calls 400
Flop: (2,000) T:spade: T:heart: 4:heart: (3 Players)
SB bets 4,850 and is All-In, MP1 calls 3,075 and is All-In, Hero calls 4,850
Turn: (14,775) 9:diamond: (3 Players - 1 is All-In)
River: (14,775) 2:heart: (3 Players - 1 is All-In)
Results: 14,775 Pot
MP1 showed 2:club: 4:club: (two pair, Tens and Fours) and LOST (-3,675 NET)
Hero showed K:diamond: K:heart: (two pair, Kings and Tens) and LOST (-5,450 NET)
SB showed 2:spade: 2:diamond: (a full house, Twos full of Tens) and WON 14,775

I should have raised a bit more preflop, but that wouldn't have made much of a difference against these types of players.

No, you played it right... pretty sick beat.. but remember, the guy with 2 4 could have beat you so its really a 3 outer(but a 1 outer for the guy with 22).

Yeah, I did realize that the guy with 2 4 could have beat me as well. I was just talking about the guy in the SB who had 22.

The guy with 2 4 had 1500 less chips than the guy with 22. I'd rather the guy with 2 4 hit his two outer.

About 5% after the turn.

I use 2% per out x # of cards to come + 1% = % to hit one of your outs.

I flopped a set with JJ on flop of J96 acouple of weeks ago.
Other player flopped a set with 99.
All the chips went in on the flop then the remaining 9 comes straight out on the turn.

You played it great, just another brutal bad beat.
That sucks, but don't worry you'll probably do it to someone else! =)

Thanks guys. I appreciate the support.

My opponents are idiots, but I'll welcome them to my table any day of the week. I'll win a lot more in a situation like this than I will lose. So, it's all good. :)

Ouch! That is unfortunate for that to happen. However, it does happen to all of us.

Just know that you'll win that hand way more times than you'll lose it. You don't win 100% of the time when you are way ahead. Poker would be too easy for everyone if that did happen. :)

Keep your head up, man. ;)

Good point, but it's a huge field and seems like you gotta dodge land mines from all of the loose play to get deep.

Have you had much success in the Daily Dollar yet?

i agree you did play that hand right, just a sick bad beat, its happened to all of us, multiple times on my part. worst one was a home game, had Ace 9, small stack so moved all in UTG+2 trying to show strength, got called by the big blind with pocket 6's (6 spades, 6 clubs) flop comes out 7s 4s 3s, i hit my flush, and hes down to a one outer to hit a straight flush with a 5s. Turn is an ace, helps no one, river is a 5s and i lose it all. Notice how its always the river that you get bad beat on with the one outer?

He was all but dead

I was in middle position approaching the bubble. I hav 10 9 of clubs. I had about 23bb and had been playing really nitty against a very LAG table. UTG, +1, +2 all fold. I open 2.5bb. Guy to my left calls. Everyone folds but big blind. Flop: J99, 2 hearts. BB bets half pot. Big blind is very loose. Bets every gutshot, every flush draw, any pair, etc. WIDE range. Guy to my left is a calling station but doesn't lead much. I go all in. Guy to left tanks for awhile and folds. BB insta-calls and shows J8 diamonds. Guy to my left says, "I folded AJ." I have middle set with a blocker to the straight. The turn: 10 spades. Gives me full house and his straight draw means nothing. The only card that can beat me is the case J...........
