when we play a tournament we can beat many people, maybe hundred, or sometime thousand, sometime we can reach bubble and win. but its difference if we play cash game. cash game is more tilt than tournament. more difficult, more traps and other. anybody can answer that reason? bacuse many time i can win tournament but in cash game mostly i get lose

I don't know for me, cash games are generally easy, I almost always win tournament games that are more difficult for me

For me tournaments are easier, we all start from the same condition, with the same amount of chips and the possibility of being eliminated, you can exploit those virtues, on the other hand in cash, you can lose a lot trying to recover what you lost, and enter a vicious circle, you end up in a tunnel without falling.

Hello😉You may find it difficult because when you play cash games, you sit at the table for a long time and your opponents know all your chips, there are more rotations during the tournament, well, this is a lie, everything is in your head😉

I think it is more about which game a person is most comfortable with. Each game requires a different skill set but BOTH REQUIRE that you play fundamentally sound poker.

You buy in some money 💰 to play on a tournament ,you invest time maybe hours but you can't discreased your budget. On the other cash games are so boring . Players are not that aggressive folding much more than tournaments, less action they can change table in any time.Needs to like those not my taste

Here is the thing that I noticed at Thunder Valley (located in Lincoln, CA). The thing is that in a tournament you are usually only are only 15 big blinds deep. And in a cash game you can be at least 100 big blinds deep. So, I prefer cash games! So in a tourney, sometimes you have to push with your top pairs. Although, if you have more chips, you should be more carefull!

This is just because the tactics of playing tournaments are different from playing at cash tables. Others, on the contrary, have problems playing tournaments.

The traditional cash game invites the poker player to choose where to sit. Low luck factor. As you know, poker is a game of skill, and cash is the best fit for this definition. Professional skills. In the world of modern cash game poker, it is impossible to earn big money without a mathematical mindset, endurance, hard work, pedantry and incredible dedication to what you love. Tournament poker often has a lot of money at stake. Often, a victory makes it possible to increase the amount of the entry fee by several hundred, or even thousands of times.

in my opinion, they are more difficult due to the fact of seeing the chips as money, this psychologically prevents the player from getting involved with any hand, you can see that most people only enter the bet when they have a strong hand, you hardly see anyone getting involved with 4 9 for example, which in tournaments this is common.

Well, I guess it is because there is no end to a cash game - except if you go broke. So there is also no dynamic. In tournaments you can reach the bubble and sort of lean back if you are fine with a medium win but in cash games you have to end it yourself, which is hard to do.

In cash every hand you play has impact on size of your bankroll, tournaments hands are capped in risk in sense that you already paid the price,it won't be worse.

I like cash games more, there is dynamics there, it's not sitting for hours at the table until you get a strong card, especially tournaments with a deep stack, people sit for an hour without any game, the popularity of tournaments is that you can deposit $ 1 and win $ 50

Tournaments = Luck

There are a lot of weak players in both tournaments and cash games at the micros and low limits, and there can be many reasons why you cannot play cash games successfully, and it is impossible to answer your question without seeing how you play and where you make mistakes. !!! I can only assume that maybe you are not playing aggressively enough as in my experience in cash games in some cases you need a little more aggression and risk than in tournaments !!!

Plenty of reasons, one of them is if you play usually a type of game, you won't be as good as on an other one, if you play cash like you play mtts for sure you'll be losing, you will tend to play too loose, because in mtts you have to as the blinds grow, while in cash games, patience is key. There is a psychological reason there, you play directly money, so you have to be ready to lose money directly even with winning hands, because if you tilt you get to lose way more afterwards, while in mtts, you will lose your buy in at max (unless you tend to buy in other mtts at tilt, but it's less likely). Unless you play rush&cash or zoom cash, you have to keep the focus on other players' plays, and take reads, it has way more value, as you can end up playing hours with same ppl, while in mtts that happens usually at the final table, where you are usually short stake. The variance is hagher in mtts, so if you are more winning it may be because you are just more lucky at the moment, the edge will be decided on limitting your losing streaks, and getting a higher value on winning ones.

I have the same problem. From my point of view, I often deviate from the theory, as I see money in cash games

Mtts are diffrent from cash games for few reasons, let's say they don't have the same dynamics. In cash game if a player is under 20BB he can recave and keep his 20BB, but in a tournament he can't so he will push all-in with some marginal hands that in theory will not push in cash games, the blinds level, in cash game if you play NL10 will be fixe at 0.10$, but in a tourney they keep increasing so you have to adapt your play or you will bust.

Cash is harder because the blinds are way deeper, so shoving pre flop has no value, and for the other reasons the colleagues said.

Low buy in Sit and go tournaments attracts more casual player wanting a quick game, theoretically they could be harder to beat if they were played by more solid players, as rake can be brutal. Cash games have more complexity, against good players, your patterns of play are exploitable. MTT online, you get moved around a lot so with many weak players having a punt, basic ABC poker can reward you. If you have time and patience low buy in sats to MTT can be very profitable.

If losing in cash games, move down a level, and combine roughly even time to poker study with playing. Knowledge is more important in long run.

What means harder? Win more money in a certain time? I think the varianz is higher in tournament. Because some hands achieve mire money value as other. And if is in the endphase of tourney you must win the coinflip to getting the final 3 players to generate some cash.

I think that it depends of the player. In my opinion, a big difference is that in cash game the players can enter to the table with 50 or 100 BB and the blinds are always the same. In the tournaments all the players start with the same chips but the blinds increase in 5-10-15 minutes. 😀

Sorry for my english 😬
