This question has probably been asked multiple times on this forum, but what is everyone’s strategy for when to stop playing a cash game? Do you set a certain amount of hands for you to play? Do you stop after you hit a certain profit/loss in game? When you start to feel like you aren’t playing your best? I would describe myself as a numbers guy, as in I want to tell myself “okay, quit until you are up one buy in or you lose your buy-in” or “play until you have x amount of profit or played x amount of hands”. Would love to hear how other determine when to quit, or if it is more of whether or not you are on your A game.

If I somehow become distracted and don't think I can recover my concentration-that's a strong departure signal. But in general, whenever the conditions have deteriorated beyond repair. Remember it's no disgrace to quit for any reason. The game will be there tomorrow and there's no urgency to win all the money in one session. It's one long session.

I try to take a break every hour, at least 5-10 minutes. Every three hours - a break of at least half an hour. If I feel that I am tired, I stop playing, otherwise it can lead to significant losses. All the money still does not win :D

I think it doesn't matter how many hands you play, how much time you spend at the table now, the main thing is, if you're not enjoying the game, you're tired, you want to do something else, it's a good time to leave), of course, you can't help but talk about bad decisions at the table. But not one player can't talk, I only play well and never make mistakes - no it's not:), all players make mistakes, but if you stop controlling yourself, you get tired of poker, you feel something is wrong, it's a good time to go and take a break :)

You can create rules for yourself. Increased the stack by 20/30% or lost 50% of the stack, you need to take a break for half an hour.

Everytime you play you are risking so is better to be 100% ready to play. Meditation can improve your focus and tilt management. Anyway I like to set goals for profit and for loss. This way you'll never lost your entire bankroll in one day if you're on a downswing. When I'm on the profit side I reduce my stop loss so I end up with profit anyway

I think it is best to set a goal in advance. If you achieve that goal you just have to stop, that's my tactic. If i go far over the goal with a thick hand, i will continue and play more aggressively. Sometimes i lose everything again. So the best thing to do is to just quit.

If you are on the heater, don't stop playing. Stop when you lose couple buy ins.

I am starting in cash games and I pause for 5 minutes per hour if I win, if I am losing 100bb I pause for 45 minutes and then resume the session.

The moment your demeanor changes. If you came to the game excited to play poker and that excitement has changed to some other emotion, it is a good time to end the session.

I have a stop loss but not a stop gain. If I lose three full buy ins for a session then I am done. On the winning end, I do not have a stop. If the table is great and full of loose action and I am playing well then I am there for a long time. This is how you build up the 2k+ stacks at a 1/2 1/3 game.

Play as long as it brings you pleasure, if you don't like something, or change the table or stop the session. Forcing yourself to play and wanting to win back is the worst thing that can happen to You at the poker table.

I think, should stop after hit a certain loss in game.
Otherwise, there will be no money at all.
But don't be limited to winning :)

At the peak, meaning when you have made enough money based on your concentration and enjoyment of the game. once you start to worry about losing what you have earned and your energies going down, its time to do.

i tend to take a break of 15 mins for every 2 hours of play. if i feel myself getting tilted or not playing optimally, i’ll take an hour or two off, depends on how i feel

The way I quit my cash game session is when I start playing my C game or when I am about to start playing my C game. Another time when I quit is when I reached my end of session which is based on time. Right now the longest session I played was for 4hours which was today. Currently I am trying to increase my session duration to increase my endurance so I only quit when I start to play my C game and go on tilt.

A streak of bad luck has begun, after a successful bankroll replenishment, it's time to think about it in order to exit the game at the right time:)

I have recently started giving the cash & zoom (snap as I play 8880 tables ago due to lack of time for STT/Tournies. I usually only play for 1-2(sometimes 3) hrs at a time and have the aim to double/triple the buy-in and leave (or stop for the day if lose 2 buyins).

However in reality I have an annoying habit where I will get 2 or 3 buyins up and instead of leaving the game there & then as i should. I find I say to myself "I will just play another 30mins or until I get to £xx" then inevitably end up on the losing end of a couple big pots and either bust or back to original buy-in amount, so annoying

Self discipline in knowing when to leave the table is something I am trying to implement and be strict with myself on going forward.

I quit the cash game on two occasions when I see that the card does not come in and when I win four or five buy-ins.

My goals is stoping when I lose too much or when I am very tired. So I just go away when I lose everything. [emoji16]

I am more of a tournament player, unfortunately if I play fast poker and after a couple of three lost buy-ins I get tilted
