I've blocked my ability to make deposits and just focusing on building my bank roll with either free rolls or low stakes. slow grind but i'll get there. I suggest you try it sometime, makes playing way more fun. If you have little or no money, it also prevents you gambling all your earnings away :)

I usually do about the table minimum which would be $50 for a 1/2 at Seminole Coconut creek, Unless you have plenty of untied income to have sitting in a poker site. I usually just do the minimum and work from there. If i loose it wait a week buy back in a try again.

Waffle3113, Coconut Creek is where I used to play but I moved south so I play at Gulfstream or The Big Easy.

$500 not enough for 50c/$1 you should have at least 1,000 for .50/$1 and $2,000 for $1/2.

If you want to play 25c/50c at the very highest $500 but its even better with $500 that you are playing 10c/25c.

You make a deposit $ 500 and you ask advice? But seriously, then 0.5-1 and 1-2 $ are optimal. If you play 4-6 tables at a time, then go into the $ 0.5-1, if up to 4 tables, you could go to $ 1-2

Always 100BB buy-in regardless of stakes. Playing short-stacked doesn't really let you play proper poker as you don't have room to maneuver. With 50BB buy-in, you can forget about speculative hands like suited connectors and small pocket pairs. You are mostly going all-in with nutty holdings - until your equal with the other stacks and aren't covered anymore.

Off course, the casino is like 10 minutes away. Always good cash action and the freeroll tournaments are decent as well. You get 500 free chips and can buy in for another 4000 for $20 so its like spending $20 for 4500 chips. Freerolls range from $2500 to $5000 on the Thursday and Sunday. Worth your trouble to try it once at least for the $5000

As a nearly broke college student, unfortunately I don't have money like that to deposit away. I'll try to always reload on either freerolls or the minimum deposit and just try to build a bankroll from there.

Some pretty senseless advice about bankroll management here. Games like 100NL or 200NL online have become extremely tough, so even solid winning players will see a lot of variance. Playing with less than 50 times the buyin is just gambling, and you are pretty much sure, you will need to deposit again at some point, unless you get extremely lucky. With a 500$ deposit, you are only really rolled for the 10NL games, and maybe a 4 BI "shot" at 25NL.
