As the title says, what for you, is the most striking difference between the live cash game and the online cash game.

I start by commenting that in addition to the number of hands played for hours changes, the standard size of bets changes, certain table dynamics change, even the rule, here we have a game where the button that pays the blind, finally and mainly the intentions for behind each player, I say their motivations that lead to being there, I think that in online the thought of making money is much more dominant than in live, I think that in live, we have many more recreational players for hobby without wanting to profit.

I would also like to express here that I like both modalities, and I believe that everyone can seek their potential in each of them.

Cash games are one of the most common poker game formats and are played mostly by both novice and experienced poker players. What's more, you can play cash games anywhere in the world, from casinos, houses and clubs to the online world. In tournament poker, the minimum purchase amount is the same for all poker players and includes an additional fee for the person or company organizing tournament. However, the commission is not considered part of the game of poker and will not be included in stakes or stakes. Tournament poker is considered a game for experienced poker players. The blinds continue to increase at regular intervals, forcing players to play and win the game instead of waiting for stronger hands or premium cards. Live poker is certainly better.

I think the difference will be in the experience of each one in those styles of play

I think, the biggest difference is, that the players play wider ranges live. There is no multitabling live and you lose more time between hands. So people get bored and play junk.

Well I fully agree with what you said, and add that players in live poker are more to bet and see the chips roll in, than with the thought of being profitable, I see more players who have poker as a hobby instead of trying to be profitable, already in the online scene I see many more people trying to develop the hobby to supplement the income, or even become professional in poker, the micros were never so difficult technique, today I see the need for fine adjustments in the game to remain profitable in the micros, especially in cash games, the style of play is impressive.

For a long time I believed that my game was better in live, but for knowing a little more of the things that others, but today I see the live as a source of entertainment and a social game, and the online as you said has more volume, as a more technical and mental game. This of course in my humble opinion.

I rather play online because I just get bored to easily at live tables. And defiantly be able to play more than one tournament at a time is a major factor for me.

In this sense do you think that online poker, due to its high volume, would compensate for the lack of skill of live players? Because today I have a tremendous difficulty to be shark in online poker, however in face to face at least in local games and home games, it seems much easier the journey to be good, but meanwhile I share your opinion that the factor of being able to play more tables contributes significantly to opt for online, but I think that face to face cash is as profitable as online cash depending on the stakes.

You are absolutely right. Good luck at the tables.

Its probably the comfort factor for a lot of folks. Some folks don't like going to the casino and dealing with people and sitting and sitting and sitting at a live game with really nothing to do besides look at a board live.

The strategy shouldn't change when you play either but you have to understand how the games are actually played when you play live.

What I mean is and lets take a stud game for instance, online you don't have to know what suit brings if someone has the same bring in card as someone else because the computer does it for you.

You'll have the dealer to remind you how much you can bet on every street but I've seen folks that I can tell play a lot of online because they know strategy but they don't actually know the betting round in a limit game because the computer does it for them, lol.

You're going to actually learn how the game is played when you play live vs online is my point.

And you'll have to know who to talk to in order to sign up for a seat, where to buy in, and you have to deal with people if you play live.

Competition to me is the same. If you play low limits live then you're going to get the same bad freeroll and low limit players doing the same silly mistakes that you would find online in my opinion.

Online VS Live

One big difference is that playing online one can't get a read on a player referring to their body movements , facial expressions ,habits etc that you can playing live . As other have said online tables play slower sometimes as players are playing multiple tables. just my thoughts

Big difference for me in live poker that I dont ever see online
Speech play , angling by going out of turn or the pump fake with the chips /folds then doing the opposite.
There a lot of subtle tells that I dont ever pay attention but can be profitable if you can get it right
I narrow down to the the ones that do have verbal tells - using saying the opposite of their intention
The other that are silent but do the pump fake with hands, watching their hand action usually means opposite too
deliberate bet means weak slow check means strong

there are are lots of players that are straight forward with their hand action and verbal clues too
Some are truthful what they say and dont do any of this fake hand action so its annother layer of poker that either you like or not
sometime go back to online poker cause betting action/sizing should be pure form of poker tells

I really like this question; kudos. Every players' bottom-line seems to stick out as the answer but then, again, what leads to that? Assuming there is a designated dealer I would have to say that at a live table walking away w/chips in hand to the cage is the most decisive factor, imo. You can't get that feeling online.

I don't have that much experience with live poker but I really enjoyed the experience back then. It's nice when you see your opponents and you can just have small talk with them. The atmosphere at the table was mostly very relaxed. As for the poker itself, I don't know if the people in live poker are worse than those in online poker. I saw the same stupidities there as in online poker. I also think that you see a difference when you play a higher level, whether online or live. I only play online at the moment and more micro or low.

I think there is a world of difference between live and online cash games. Live, the atmosphere, the glow in the air... The game is helped to a greater extent by properly applied game psychology, body language.

I get to see players hole cards if there a call at the river. So get an idea how they like to plays draws and big hole cards.
Live it’s more guessing as cards get mucked way more often

I think especially that live you play much less hands per session. Also the social is missing online or that you have no clues regarding the body language.

You get to see the players expressions. Also you get to see hold cards if betting to get a feel of how they play. Sometimes I will call when I shouldn’t just to see this if the call is small enough

I didn't play many live games, but I guess the main difference is that online you play purely by stats and numbers. You can't see anyone's faces and no one can see yours, so your only judgement is by how they act on each street. This might be a lot more effective than playing live as online games allow you to concentrate more on the facts and actions on the screen. Live you need to spread your focus on looking at players and judging their reactions while not giving yourself away, which might not leave enough time for you to look at the stats.

online - play is too fast
live - play is too slow
Multi table and zoom is too much for me
I like to single table now online but I dont like staring at a computer screen for 4 hours
I rather be at live table but the action is slow and I can get bored easier
