In this hand I made the right raise because of the villains betting pattern and it was a scary board but I knew I had the best hand 🤚. Thank you for your comment.

Surely with trip nines you should have gone for more value on the river. You may have got the whole stack. What was scary about the board?

So what did you actually understand about getting patterns? That his small river bet was weak? Seems a pretty standard spot to raise trips v a small size though you could have gone a little larger

I think if you had made a PSB (pot sized bet) he would call as there are a lot of draws that missed on the river, try to maximize your profit and minimize your losses, that's poker.

the distribution is quite standard, on the river I would raise with an increased size, since in his range after the bet there will just be a lot of J and he will be ready to pay because of this in response to our large bet, you could even consider an overbet

From my point of view, understanding the types of betting patterns isn't easy but it's not difficult either. It takes some time to develop those tips that make you think about when and when not. Practice makes perfect” for my part, I make a game sequence and try to take notes from my opponents and then develop some kind of scheme that allows me, from a certain point on, to predict how I play and the types of bets. It's all about keeping track of your opponents.
