I don't know what is or why, but lately I've been grinding 1/2 NLH and 2/5 and I have been crushing it. Right now, took a small bankroll of about $1500 and just broke over to $6000. I've only been playing on the weekends and Friday. I'd say I've been doing this since July. I've been keeping track of my sessions on my BR App.

Prior to this I've been a tournament grinder for the last 2 years. Breaking even and winning small cashes here and there. Tournaments are tough and variance is a bitch.

But how come I'm having more success in cash games then tournament? One thing I have noticed is the math in cash games is much easier to count.

Yes. I'm not very good at tourneys, but cash... my best result was x1000 (from 20 to 2000 bucks) for one night. But tht happened 3-4 times for all years.
Usually I come with 100 and take 250-400 in 4-6 hours.

yeah a little bit. I had to buy in at the minimum level at 1/2 which is $100. At that rate I only had about 15 Buy ins.

Tournaments, I was playing from $60-100 so I had plenty of bankroll.

So in the beginning of cash games, I had to play TAG. Which was fine, but kind of boring. Once I won a few sessions especially a big one when I stacked almost the whole table for $900 net profit. Started to make adjustments and play looser. Then I took off.

I only took a few shots at 2/5 just to see how it was.

Tournaments cannot remotely compare to cash games for successful, consistent profit from disciplined grinding.

You need to be a thrill-seeking junkie who literally lives for gambling adrenaline rushes if you want to justify being a tournament grinder. The only gain you get is that you can take bigger risks and justify it because of the stacks being so shallow.

Cash tournaments are cool

Cash tournaments are cool, but you need a lot of patience and endurance to win in tournaments. In the cache, you can win much faster

because when you play cash you risk money, and in freerolls rated and partially received or not received money
