Switching seats mid-game... bad etiquette?

So last night, I was getting pretty comfortable at a NL2 cash game and up about 70BBs. I had some pretty tight players to my right, and a LAG on my left (which has been somewhat cramping my style... lol), and the fish was about 3 or 4 seats to my left. Magically, the seat directly to the left of the fish, and 3 seats away from the LAG opened up. To me, that's as close as I can get to a "jesus seat" on the table.

Now, I tried to get into that seat, but PStars doesn't let me switch seats in game without first leaving the table (presumably to prevent stuff like this from happening). So the only option would be for me to leave my seat, leave the game, and come back in and sit right next to the fish.

The fish in question had a VPIP/PFR of around 40/8 based on over 50 hands of observation.

So here's my question: is it bad form for me to leave my seat in a perfectly good table (and risk losing my place in the table) and come back in hopes of snagging that Jesus seat on the table? Would this scare the fish away (if he sees someone leave and then immediately come back to sit right next to him)? I imagine this happening in a casino and if I were the fish, I'd leave the table right away. Then again, if I were a fish, I probably wouldn't know that I'm a fish.

Anyway... has anyone done this? Is it recommended?

I do this all the time. Yeah maybe people will sometimes notice it, but I dont think, they will always understand, what is going on. Often I think, fish are just so busy with even playing, they dont really have time to notice, that the same player came back again in another seat.

I guess, you could call it bad etiquette, but I mainly do this, when the fish in on my left. I dont want to have someone playing nearly every hand on my left, because it force me to play the majority of hands out of position. Lets at least play a fair game, where we take turns having position on each other.

Of course you can not do this is live games, and also not in online tournaments, but in online cash games, where you can also easily change table, I dont see any problem in it. Sometimes I will also leave a table, because I got the worst seat, and go back on the waiting list. Most regulars at 10NL or higher seat select, so if you dont, you will systematically always get the worst seats at the table.
