Is the skill level the same at $10NL cash tables vs. $10 MTTs?

I been playing cash mostly at SB and Bovada. But my problem is the fact that I'm not going anywhere with it. I'm just going up and down. I mean, I'm not winning past my starting BR. I'm like standing still. Therefore, my question for advice is, would you all change up for awhile and play some MTTs. Maybe just one a day on both sites? And since I'm risking $10 when I sit at the cash tables, should I play the MTTs with that high of buyin. I know my BR will depend on that. What I'm thinking, is the fact that the lower the buyin, the more players there are going to be. Ok sorry this is so long. GL to you all in any game you play today.

If you play cash at lower than 10$ levels do you perform better? If yes then would it be better to do that?
It is true that the player pool in 10$ MTT's is smaller than in lower buy-ins, but their skill level is also higher. If you can handle the different strategies (cash/MTT) then by all means - mix. Just make sure you have all your fundamentals in good shape.

Hi.
Apparently it depends on how much free time you have. I do not play cash games, I only play tournaments. My daily spending limit is about $ 4-5. Usually I play 4-5 tournaments with a buy-in of $ 1. This system brings good results and my bankroll grows.
Good luck.

Thanks you guys for the replies. Nafor, at SB the lowest cash tables is 10nl. However, they have one $500 GTD MTT at 5:30pm, with a $5 buyin, but it has R/As, so that's pretty tough, but I'm going to try that one today.

Newzooozooo, I think I see you alot playing in these freerolls. You are a good player. What you said, makes sense. I think I will try some of those lower buyins. That's what I want to do, build my BR, and I don't care if it's slow. GL today

PatriceM915, the best thing I can tell you is the fact that even if you get bored from folding, folding, and folding some more, just sit back and wait for the right cards. Don't play any trash hands. And above all, believe in yourself. GL today

Play freerolls for a while! See how you do making decisions and go from there!

What kind of studying have you been doing to work on your game?

The building of a bankroll is slow and steady with a winning strategy, but it doesnt happen quickly. You will want to get a sample of at least like 10'000 hands before you really check on how you're doing.

If you'd like to level up your strat, we just switched http://gripsed.com to be completely free, so yo can get a membership and go thru the Cash & Tournament challenges to really fine tune your game.

You'll also learn about Game Selection and a lot of 'soft skills' that will have a very positive impact on your win rate and your bottom line
