Well then you've just won a pot you weren't supposed to even be in which is a great result.

If you're sitting at a table that's so inobservant that they'll call AIPF with TT if you suddenly wake up after not playing a hand in a million orbits, then there's of course no need to throw in deception plays. I rarely show, I'd just muck it. That's a whole different argument though.

If you do find, however, that people instafold as soon as you pop in your first reraise in X hands, then you probably need to toss in a squeeze play with 9Ts or 88 once in a while.

ok i just tried cold calling a 5X bb raise with AA. Big blind came along and both original raiser and bb flopped sets.

This thread sucks.

I raised 5X BB from 1st position w/ AA - SB raised 10X BB and BB called...I reraised to all-in, SB folded, BB calls and puts himself all-in.

I turn over AA
He turns over 34o

Flop gives me an A for a set - but he rivers a straight. My worst beat in a while. My AA got cracked all-in preflop by 34o.

I needed to reread the "tilt" thread on here.

Oh - I didn't want my post interpreted the wrong way. I assumed one would read all my posts in a thread...

I will never hesitate to get all my chips in the middle with AA. I was just noting/replying to the post above me. It is VERY possible to get AA cracked...but your objective is to get your money in the middle when you have the odds to win. After that, it's luck.

No diff than blackjack. You know what the odds are when you compare what you have and what the dealer is showing and you make your decisions appropriately. I will always double a 10 or 11 if the dealer is showing a 6 or lower. There is always a chance that the dealer still turns to 21, but I'm willing to get my money based on my odds. But I would not double down with a 12 showing.

Same thing - I'll get all my money in with AA because the odds are on my side.
