This is a discussion on Quitting Cash game Session within the online poker forums, in the Cash Games section; Should I quit my session if i ran into 2 QUADS(both went all in) within a span of 10 hands? LOL
If you play poker online, your best bet is always to plan to play a certain number of hands per session. This is the goal many regulars set themselves. Why does it work so effectively? This will give you a clear and unambiguous goal that needs to be fulfilled. You see how many hands you still need to play, and you will have a specific moment to stop the game and end the session.
It depends. If you are tilting even a bit, then you are probably justified in quitting. Conversely, if you shake it off barely fazed because you know that variance balances out long-term...then the correct approach might be to stay if you are at a good table and perceive yourself to be one of the best players there.
Also, "how" did they both hit Quads? Was the Four of a Kind completely lucky (in which case, you might be more inclined to stay) or did they simply hit monster hands by chance and then play it really well (in which case, you might be more inclined to quit or move tables)?
