So I have mainly played tournament poker and am curious about getting into cash games. What are some good resources to start learning the differences?

If you are talking about money tables, pokerstars handles a new option called Zoom, where you should not wait for the development of the game, immediately discard your hand you are transferred to another table. It is a very good option if you time is limited.

Cash games are a lot deeper stacked generally, and you can employ seat and game selection. So you want to quit bad games and find / stay in games that are really soft.

And remember that Zoom is usually a bit more tricky than normal cash games. If you would like more action I would recommend 6 max

You need to sit down and play. Try all the different forms and start at the lowest level or lower than you think you should then work your way up as you prove to yourself you can win. Try not to ever mix tournament play and cash at or near the same time. It is the same card game but it is completely different. Just find a time when you can sit back and relax and see some hands. Try playing a few hundred or so to see how you feel and if it is similar for you to when you play tournament. Reading and watching others play can come later but I recommend just playing as much as you can and paying attention. Good luck.

To start with cash games, you can follow a strategy like the big stack, which you can find in schools like pokerstrategy

The Poker Bank has some good articles on their website which I think is mainly based on cash game strategy. They also have some good youtube videos on hand reading which I recommend for you after you have learned the basics and played a few hands.
Pokerstrategy.com is another one I used for a few months before I decided to start playing poker, which I don't quite remember anymore, but for sure check it out.
Last but not least, Blackrain79's book "Crushing the Microstakes" has all from the most basic stuff, like what hands you should play from what position, to how you should play in all kind of post flop situations.

Also some advice if you decide to play regular cash tables: Don't play too many tables at once in the beginning. I started out with max two tables at the same time, and now after a few months play around 4-6 tables at once. The more experience you get, the more tables you can play at once.

Great advice i should focus on from all of you thank you. Ive definitely found a weakness in my game at the cash tables. My wins are more frequent in tournaments still so im debating just sticking to them. But the lore of cash games is so great that im going to keep studying and reading until i feel comfy enough to come back to them

Cash to tourney

If you're a profitable tournament player, the cash transition should be a pretty easy transition for you. The only thing that you may find yourself having trouble with is when to get up and leave. It's a very hard discipline to learn, but if you learn to make a goal for the session and get up as soon as you hit your goal, you will be fine. Most cash players struggle with this, it took me a few years to develop this concept. I would get way up, the find myself gradually giving my profits back.

Play with skill and don't rely on luck
