I started playing online more recently and I just do not do as well as live games. What are some good adjustments or things to change when going from live cash to online?

I think you may find things like bet sizing are different online. While you may not have worry about giving off body language tells online there are a lot of players that are probably using a HUD against you. Another benefit of playing online is that you can take notes and color code players. The biggest difference is that is much easier to game select, live you may not have many options, but online you can search out the weaker players.

I think there are not many big differences between live and online poker. However, you need to adjust something such as the pace is faster, you will play more hand and need to make decisions quickly; some sites allow using HUD; players are oten not soft, compared to live poker,...

Online poker is more popular due to its accessibility but at virtual tables, the percentage of chaotic players is higher than in live poker. I am not necessarily referring to novice or inexperienced players, but to those who act completely illogically, contrary to basic poker strategies. They are easy to recognize, they are the ones who pay as much as they can to see a straight in the hole, or they play big bucks on the hands considered the worst in poker, such as J-3 or 10-2. And, not infrequently, you will be surprised to see that they come in a good combination and neutralize your strong hand. Poker players call them 'fish', I've always called them trolls, because their main feature is to annoy you.

On the other hand in the live game, this type of player is easier to counter. Instead, online, he might take a lot of money from you with his bad hand, because you had no idea he was a troll. In addition, after that it is not excluded for the troller to get up from the table and not have the opportunity to recover what you lost from him. This has happened to me many times. And you can't really avoid them. But if you've got them on your radar, you have to be patient, let them shake at the table, and tax them when you have the best possible hand.

I guess I have more comparisons but I can't think of it right now.

Wish you all a good day!

I think there are many differences between live and online play. You don't see other players, so you must make decisions without that. Your decisions will be faster. Online play is more comfortable. You can always play and you can select game you prefer. You can play 2 or 3 games (tables, tournaments) at same time. But be careful. Not all of this possibilities are good.

Many people think that live poker and online poker are the same and that is probably why many people choose the convenience of online poker. Live poker is much slower than online poker. If you have ever played live poker, you probably know how slow it is and how it works. You sit down at the table and play the game for a while. Everyone has time to think, think about what other players are doing, and much more.

Also, remember if you are playing live $1/2 game , you will NOT find the same competition online it will be much more difficult. Start online at the micro stakes until you are comfortable and you can evaluate if you are a winning player or if you need more study time. It is true that online players will probably have a HUD, but that is not something to worry about at lower stakes, BUT if you are playing too high, they will label you immediately and work to take advantage. Just slow down and start at 2/5 cent or 5/10 cent and build up some hands. Good Luck

When I started playing online, I had some difficulties, I couldn't reach my goals, I was anxious, greedy, and I took incorrect attitudes, I was forced to adapt, I watched some games as an observer and when I was eliminated, I continue to watch, today I can do an analysis, but it also happens to end up leaving due to some hasty move or pure luck from my opponent, good luck and welcome to the online universe.

has anyone had issues where there are bots playing? when im in legal states it doesnt happen. But ive noticed when i play on bovada or ignition it seems like they are def bots. ive also heard they purposely create more action and i see suck outs of under 3% hit 5x in 15 mins on same table. Just seems hard to trust.
anyone have places they recommend online?

When you're face to face with your opponents you're limited to the action in front of you and you may be inclined to play a wider range to get some action.

Online, on the other hand, is riddled with multi-table players who only play premium hands, so extracting money from them can be difficult. From my experience, cash games online felt like whenever I hit something worth betting, everyone folded, and when they didn't fold I was betting into 2 pair, a set or better and losing money in the long run. SNG and MTT on the other hand is pretty much the same online vs. live.
