I'm new to poker and I know I played this badly but need advice as to exactly where this hand went wrong and how to improve based on this play... I played a session roughly breaking even and this hand was my biggest beat...

I'm in co.. With 7s ts

Utg raises 3bb
Everyone folds, I call
Flop (Js Qs 5h)
He bets half pot, I put him on jacks or Queens and I call with a drawing hand
The turn is Jh
At this point he bets another half pot... My thought process went something like.. Maybe he has a Q, can I represent a J for a set by betting here, I didn't bet the flop because a q beats my J but now I'm ahead, will he fold to a bet?... I double his bet and he calls my bluff....
River card 10c
He had (K A)
He made his straight on the river bet big I called without thinking and lost.

Question is if I bet bigger on the turn should he have folded? Should he have folded anyway given the odds or should I have folded... I know I should have folded to a big bet on the river but I didn't think at the time.

How would you have played this hand? Could I have won or should I have folded earlier.

Pre-flop: Often just fold suited connectors against a single raise from early position. This is also a bad suited connector.

Flop: Call is fine. You get pretty good odds to draw.

Turn: If you're gonna bluff (semi-bluff) raise bigger. But with two high cards out it is a big risk to bluff since an early position raiser can hit these boards pretty hard.

River: After he calls the turn on a paired board he shows strength so no need to try to bluff any more. And as you stated you can't call either. So just give up and fold.

Pre-flop:Ok play considering information, not to bad not to good, you never know what may come at the flop.
Flop:Normal call as expected given the cards you entered the flop, the best option for your card despite obvious full house or poker is to chase straight but the flash chase here is also fine presuming that you put your opponent which is not also flush drawing with higher kicker.
Turn:Crucial point of this hand. You had two choices:easier but not profitable to fold or to try to raise really big and try to steal the pot,you didn't choose neither one and made a bad play there.
River:Must fold.

If you decide to semi-bluff turn, don’t minraise. You are giving him good odds to call for a 10, K or A.
River: never call without a reason. Easy fold.

He raised preflop. He bets flop, turn and river. What could he possibly have here that you beat?
